Can we stop with these awful world quests

Another turtle made it to the water! :dracthyr_heart:

What give you this idea?

They did the same by requiring us to run over 200 M+ dungeons or the raid at least 20 times within a season to get close to BiS, why shouldn’t they do the same with World Content too?

There are 3 reasons why World Quests seem to take a long time right now:
(a) Everyone does them. When the next week comes and everyone starts running Delves, M+ and raids, we will barely see people in the overworld except for the World Boss, and therefore we will not have any competition
(b) We are so overwhelmingly powerful for world content that NPCs barely last 3 gcds. Everything dies so quickly that enemies don’t live long enough for other players in the area to get to tag them.
(c) Blizzard forgets to turn on fast respawn times for NPCs when their numbers drop to critical levels. There has been a blue post saying that they have such a mechanism in place.

I would ban API access for such addons as well.

People should only get a hint via the “Adventurer Guide”. Make a dedicated page for World Activities with potential drop chances and such. Additionally, I would now even say WQ shouldn’t have fixed rewards but RNG ones from a dedicated reward pool (as mentioned).

So for example, if you are unlucky, you get 3x gold currency from 3 different WQ. If you are lucky, you get 3x an epic item from 3 different WQ.

Having a bit of chaos in the rewards would definitely make it more surprising and “neat” in experience while eliminating the “checkbox” feeling.

There is quite enough of rng already in this game, making WQ’s give random crap instead of for example trasmoggable gear would most probably mean very few people would bother to do them.

Shadowlands world quests can be quite a lot worse compared to TWW ones. I’ve been attempting to do the Meta acc on one of my alts for it recently, and I’ve recently discovered how horrible they are.

I felt quite nostaligic when doing that WQ; we do it at the destroyed eco-dome where we have Korthia mobs running about and Korthia flaura standing around - and the WQ has the same flaws as many Korthia dailies had: not enough objective mobs spawning because they don’t get killed but “despawned”.

Wait till next hotfix and they will probably up the spawnrate as it was done back then.

Same goes for the WQ where we have to catch escaped eco-dome animals.

Have to say last time i have enjoyed doing WQ was in BFA.

From shadolwands onwards the rewards have become worse as the quest themself bevande more gimmnicky.

Add a vendor then for transmog purchase directly for those items in the pool.

There are solutions. And as a sidenote, if you think WoW has horrible RNG, try getting in Destiny 2 a weapon with your 2-3 preferred muzzles/visors, 2 preferred magazine types, 1-3 preferred perks on 1st row and the same with different perks on the 2nd row.

Here a picture for reference: https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/9eHySHFFEcAaiuQjnTrsa.jpg
Here the link to the possible weapon rolls: https://d2foundry.gg/w/970034755?p=0,0,0,0&m=0&mw=0

Good luck getting the right roll. THAT is “too much” RNG by your words. For me? That’s just tuesday.

Edit: Further note

Being able to get with some luck multiple pieces of gear from any WQ instead of just 2 for the next 2-3 days from 2 WQ sounds like a win to me.

What a daft idea
that’d just create burn out leading to people just not bothering with them once they got their rep if rewards were RNG. Then the world will be more dead

Practically never see people doing WQs that yield rep as a reward for the older factions.

Want activity? Make the rewards worthwhile
that’s why gold WQs are popular, more so with PvP WQs creating pvp engagement.

No, I think it’s just an issue of people not being patient or not enjoying the content itself. Wow is not under activision umbrella anymore.

I don’t mind competing against other players but when you’re on a high pop server this kind of quests causes toxicity.

There were literally dozens of people today doing animal catching quest, with 1 mob spawning every minute or so. Anyone defending this kind of design needs a head check.

I miss Legion target quests. They included rares so not only you were doing a quest you were also farming missing stuff from them. It was a good design.

heh - i run into bug during this one - stpped for me on 5/6 and i was literaly unable to stomp on last one

leaveing and retunign to are didnt help

you can really see that there is no QA in blizz after they fired their QA teams

unfortuntely blizzard hated the fun people had with WQ in legion and bfa - especialy when peopel were using grouping up addons .

so now we are left with htis travesty

and yeah legion / bfa WQ were soooo much supperior - but likely all of people who designed them were fired from blizzard / left blizzard years ago because woke > everything since liek 2020

Personally I found the Gold world quests usually the least worth for me.

These quest are faster if you do them in a group where you can quite litterally afk and have rest of the party do the quest for you, alternatively you can try and compete but you end up just being semi afk without any progress for next 30 minutes anyway so why not just group up ?

PGF addon used to automatically join groups for WQs
fun having leeches and realm hoppers joining your group till it’s full, having the group delisted, nonstop farming elsewhere.

remember in BFA that wquest in which we had to kill dinosaurs and collect their meat so we can feed smaller dinosaurs??
i really want the lore on what happened there. :))

I had to log in just to say that this is the worst idea I have ever read.

Well it is an MMO.

That said
the inconsistency of world quests is annoying, sometimes the mobs spawn instantly and in abundance, and sometimes you are fighting for every last kill and it’s tedious and takes 20 minutes.

So yeah, I’d go one way or the other, but not have both, as it is exhausting.
