Indeed. So a DPS signs up. They probably make some kind of estimation of when they need to become glued to the screen, but for the first few hours they just make sure to not get logged out. They might AFK or do WQs or something.
Anyway, they feel the queue might pop “soon” (which could still mean 2 hours). Okay, cannot AFK for more than a minute or you’ll miss the popup. I don’t need to list all the things you cannot do if you have to be prepared to reach your computer in 1 minute. You’re now rather glued to your PC.
So after some number of hours a group finally forms. The tank and healer involved here maybe felt generous, wanted to see what would happen or just weren’t getting invited to any attractive keys so they thought, what the hell. Do these two sound invested to you? No, they had a fast queue and will have a fast queue again next time. So barring any painful leaver penalty, well, they don’t have to commit to this group if it doesn’t seem promising.
But for the DPS, this queue has shaped their whole day. They had to be ready to invest half an hour at a moment’s notice like some kind of paramedics. But hey, if they do it every day, and somehow all runs finish, they will almost fill their vault!
