Hi all, i’ve started this game at 7.2 patch and started with feral druid. I loved him so much but everyone wants balance druid in groups and i can’t play balance why i don’t know. For this reason i reroll to this death knight with bfa. It’s very cool for me but sometimes i feel like this class is not fluid. His movespeed and attackspeed is boring me sometimes. And with blood, spikey health bar makes me angry sometimes. Also guardian druid is too much boring.
I don’t have any idea about monks, can you describe monk specs for me ? How is monk’s mobility ? In raids, dungeons, arenas and battlegrounds. Is windwalker’s rotation is complicated and funny ? Because i’ve always loved to play complicated but if you play correctly them, you will earn too much reward classes or characters. (i hope i described myself correctly) and can you explain brewmasters too ? I know its king at mythic pluses. But is it funny ? At least funnier than guardian druid ? I’ll be to appreciate for your answers.
We are the most mobile class. Second best is Havoc DH and a Warrior. WW’s have a baseline Roll, which can be upgraded to a better version through talents. We have Flying Serpent Kick. And a talent Tiger’s Lust. Refer to Wowheadcom’s talent calculator to view these.
Most would say WW Monk’s rotation is complicated. For me personally, it is exactly what I want. We have a lot of buttons to press, compared to other DPS. We cannot, or should not, press the same ability twice, because our Mastery increases the damage when it is NOT a repeat of a previous ability. WW’s rotation requires more planning, compared to other classes that can almost spam abilities once they have enough resources available, or the ability is off cooldown.
If played correctly, you can outdps other DPS classes that are 10ilvl ahead of you.
I don’t PVP. I can only vouch for PVE, and we are good in M+ and Raids. At least DMG and Fun wise. However, it is worth mentioning, that we don’t bring anything unique to the M+/Raids that WW or BW can’t bring. But that hasn’t prevented me from finding groups easily. But that might be down to my good Rio score.
I no longer tank on BW, but I did in Legion. And again, it requires a bit more understanding than other tank classes, because of the unique Stagger mechanic.
Okay so Brewmaster is a drunken martial artist! It’s a fun spec with a unique mechanic called stagger. It takes a moment to understand but youtube is sweet for help.
Mistweaver is lovely, heals over time, strong single target heals and nice AOE. Plus cc and lots of mobility! Squishy and a little mana hungry until you learn how to play it well.
WW is stupid fun, rolling around, CCing and AOEing everything with your spirits is a blast.
And all this in a class with unique animations that no other classes share! Even if you don’t want to main it, it’s great to try it out. You get to play a fun class with all 3 roles in the game! I really enjoy it
We aren’t “flat out worst dps”. That’s a gross lie…
The hint in why you think we are bad dps, is the same hint in our general numbers (as in how many people play a WW). And the answer is: it’s not a dumb spec. It’s not as as simple as other specs.
Look at our logs from this week, my monk is Zenurgy - oh, ok, i can’t post link…
At the time I was only 465, lower than the top dps who have around 475, with only few BiS azerite traits, no BiS trinkets, wrong stat weights (I was wrongly pooling 1.8k mastery and the better monk Okinawa, notified me of this), I don’t use Iris and spam that on trash instead I use Reaping Flames for 800k+ Touch of Deaths - and my active dps on fights was 73k, and overall came out to be 53k, in comparison the top DPSer had 78k active, and 66k overall.
That is absolutely not Flat Out Worst DPS in Raids.
@Awaken, don’t listen to this crap. WW is super fun and it can pull the numbers.
I’m looking for mobility, fun and a little bit complicated rotation, and as you say, monk can gives me everything what i want. It seems the worst dps at warcraftlogs, but i know that, it depends on player. Thanks for your replies
Fun to play is enough for me. I think i can handle dps wise. Thanks for your reply
If brewmaster is fun spec its great. Because of guardian is very boring for me, and with blood… sometimes mobs one shot to me and this makes me very very angry. Thanks for your reply, now i think i should try monk. Probably it fits me very well.
In raids and dungeons, Brewmaster-Mistweaver-Windwalker are all doing pretty good as ever. They are useful as hell. Rotation wise, Tank has a controllable ability that lowers upcoming damage - DPS rotation has combos that can be fun - Healer is…Well you press HoT buttons while channeling. Numbers may be low but who can guarantee that it wont go up with next patch only to see the highest one biting the dust?
As in mobility, you will see a lot of those angsta flying illidons trying to catch up with you crying. NO ONE will EVER escape you with Roll-FlyingKick and AoE stuns-knockbacks. It gets pretty addictive, I cant play anything else since I witnessed the monks movement abilities.
Numbers can change dude. I’m looking for mobilty and fun. I’ve started levelling a monk yesterday. And windwalker looks like very funny. If end game ww and brew is fun to play, i think i can reroll to the monk regardlessly. Thanks for your reply
This is a terrible description of Mistweaver. Numbers are also not low, as I recently pulled a 97 parse on mythic raden with 135k HPS overall.
I think everyone here described the other specs in a decent manner so I’ll focus on Mistweaver which is my main role.
From a raid perspective you’re a throughput healer, you can pull high numbers on fights that require AoE healing. You also are a strong tank healer, you can top up a tank like no one else, and during our vexiona progress we barely got any damage from despair due to me monitoring the tank debuffed closely. You are the most mobile healer by far, every other feels like a wheelchair class, barring Druid with cat form, so as such you should volunteer to be in mechanic duty and take more mechanically intensive roles to boost your contribution to your team since you have Fort Brew + Diffuse Magic/Dampen Harm making you very tanky, and you are mobile with Chi Torpedo or Roll + Tiger’s Lust.
For dungeons you’re on par with Holy Paladins and Resto Druids. Way of the crane is a very strong cooldown for 5 mans, and if you’re packing some haste and a TD you’re going to be pulling 50k DPS overall at the end of the dungeon and with strong healing. You might run into issues in high/very high keys on Tyrannical due to fights taking a long time so you’ll need to be efficient with your mana.
I find it a very fun class, with high mobility and good numbers.
Mistweaver is an easy spec to get into, as the core healing is simple for a new player, compared to the likes of something like a disc priest, but to be competitive to other healers (as of 8.3) you need to really get into the spec and squeeze out the most of the spec, and you definitely can progress whatever content you wish to do.
I find the low skill floor, high skill ceiling type of specs to be interesting.
