Can you make a macro to cast an AoE at your cursor position while still seeing the indicator?

I’m not really a fan of leftclicking to use an AoE. I’d rather instantcast it with a macro. But in raids I’m often struggling to find my cursor. I tried some cursor addons but none of them fit my needs (I would’ve liked one that showed an outline around the cursor during combat but none of them did that. I didn’t find one that allowed ones’ own cursor either.)
So I wondered if there was a macro that lets one see the AoE indicator while holding down the spell and dismisses it once you release.
