Can you make raids viable again? No one raids in retail Asmongold is right going in to Dragonflight

This feels sad. They should make Mythic raiding drop only transmogs not bis and you get a unique transmogs with a tint that goes away after season has been so people feel like even doing mythic raiding. They should make HC drop bis raiding gear on equal lvl of weekly vault.

The tl;dr incase people don’t want to watch: Classic Sunwell has hundreds of thousands more parses registered compared to Sepulcher both heroic and mythic.

Surprising? A little… but it has been pretty clear that Shadowlands is a pretty empty expansion playerwise and Sepulcher isn’t really a crowd pleaser either.

700k destruction Warlocks though… damn  that’s hard to believe.

This matters, because?

It´s funny to see people come up with excuses like.

´´Uhm but the numbers are fudged because people run the same raids over and over on alts in TBC Classic!!´´

Okay, so the content is so good people will voluntarily do the content AGAIN on their alts? Sounds like a success to me.

I made an entire thread on the subject a couple of months ago btw @OP if you want to read it.

Asmongold is right RWF is ruining WoW - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums (blizzard.com)

Asmongold is clearly correct and even one or two Raid World first raiders have been looking at these numbers and have been going yikes… Something is wrong with retail WoW.

That matters because it shows, that nobody is playing the game rn.

I was actually surprised seeing the actual numbers.

TBC has more Raidlogs because raiding is all u can do in TBC.

In Retail nobody cares about raids, most people have their main content be m+.
I think raiding sucks. Not because its sooo hard not because blizz did this or that.

Before M+ i was raiding, like everybody else. Raiding was always fun, the only thing that always sucked imo is: Guilds and the people in them.

God i hate to deal with dramas about this and that and girls and loot from people that have no social life and it shows.

With m+ i can progress with friends and its challenging and rewarding. So fk raids.

No it doesn’t. It just shows that raid participation is winding down and that could be for many reasons, it always happens. There is also a massive amount of people that just don’t raid and prefer to do M+ or PVP.

As mentioned above me. Its no longer “raid or die”. M+ also offers enough progression.
So obviously raid participation will dwindle down.

I said this before bald man made this video, but everyone thought, that it’s just my personal opinion.
Sepulcher is just too time-wasting/hard overall.

I don’t think the problem is as much with raids themselves, as it is with Shadowlands’ pretty low population.

This raid appears to be overtuned, but that alone shouldn’t be such an issue. A bigger issue my guild has faced is since 9.1, a lot of people quit and we are having trouble bringing them back. Some have returned but play much, much less dedicated now.

Well, that’s been pretty clear for a while.
I don’t really care what others do (as long as the game doesn’t outright die because of it), but for me personally I’ve already noticed a BIG shift in the amount of time I’ve played in Shadowlands compared to the previous 2 expansions.

At the moment I play maybe 30 mins a day. And that’s because I have a short term goal set for myself (want to get a certain reward before my sub time expires). If I didn’t have that I’d probably not even log in - because that’s what happened until a few weeks back. I only logged in sometimes if there was an ingame holiday or I just felt like messing around a bit.

At least at the moment I’m farming some last anima every day. But I really, really want Shadowlands to just be over. Can’t wait for DF to begin.

Thanks for the TLDR. There was zero chance I’d watch. You are the hero we need, bit don’t deserve.

At this point I’m not surprised. The expansion is at an end. We have M+ as an alternative route to gear and thanks to the creation catalyst we can even get the appearances.

I’m mainly mopping up missing covenant achievements and appearances. My guild is on a raid break as many are.

Parses and raid activity is recorded for entire patch not for just now. Low raid participation was there from very begging of patch so people being on break has nothing to do with it.

Raiding take up was fine at the start.

But you will only ever champion Classic.

What you dont undertand about that those numbers are for entire patch? Low raid participation was there from very begging.

I can only speak for myself here but you’re right, I stopped raiding in Nathria shortly before my guild killed Denathrius. M+ is better for me as I’ve always prefered a small group of friends having a laugh and ribbing on each other.

I’ve had zero motivations to raid, the most recent raid seems like it was designed for the Echos and Liquids of the world not the average player hence the 50k nerfs over the past few months, I think i’ll stick to M+ and see how things unfold as the alpha/beta progresses.

Might be true for Mythic. The reason why nobody plays Normal and Heroic is simply the fact that they give close to no loot, what can´t also be farmed out of m+.

They either should nerf m+ to the point where raid will always drops more ilvl than m+, (like currently they last 3 bosses) or they should up the requirements to get max loot out of the weekly chest. Like +15 would drop 265 and +20 would drop 278.

You get gear too fast and too easy imo.

Blizzard tried something similiar with “m+ gives gear too fast” at start of SL.
Lets just say that it didnt work out. And PvP was for a while the “forte gearing up”.
There will be always raiding fans, m+ fans and PvP fans. And then there is the people in between which will take whichever side gives the most gear.

I really wish Blizzard would find a golden balance. I agree that m+ gives too rewarding sometimes but I dont want to return to the ancient “raid or die” philosophy either…

Just so people won´t be the victims of the gaslighting going on in this thread.

No, raid participation was not good in the beginning of the raid. The reason the numbers have fallen are not usual end of expansion problems. The numbers for Sepulcher are the worst WoW raiding numbers have ever been (except maybe Naxx in Vanilla WoW).

The raid sucks. It´s too hard. It´s too long. Reclearing the raid sucks. Loot is too bad compared to other options.

Legion had M+ and raids at the same time. M+ loot in Legion dropped way more frequently than now, and it could even titanforge!! INFINITE loot, that could TITANFORGE and have insane tert stats. Yet still raiding was doing fine. So again, NO, M+ as such is not the problem.

Stop the lies and the excuses.

Tell Amongold to do more Tmog competitions instead of doing data analysis :+1:
