Can you make the Paladin mount an item?

Hello there,

I just wanted to kindly suggest to make the paladin mount (both lvl 40 and lvl 60) an item that requires the riding skill to use.

In the current state of the game the paladin mounts are both class-unique spells learned by the trainer. The lvl 40 one is mostly cost-free, the lvl 60 one has an expensive questline.

The thing is that the paladin mounts as they are right now come with hugh disadvantages (idk for warlocks but I guess it will be the same?)

The one advantage is:

  • The mount does not cost you 1 slot in your inventory.

The disadvantages so far are:

  • the mount costs mana to summon (on my ret pala it’s around 7% of my max mana) (so no mount summon if OOM and if you can mount but are already low in mana you will be OOM if something dismounts you and you wanna start to fight)
  • you cannot mount if you are silenced
  • if you get inline-kicked while casting the mount summon then you will become kicked for all your class abilites as well. Like if you manage to run away in pvp and get out of fight to finally start mounting and a mage hits you from somewhere with counterspell.

So please offer us an option to purchase the mount in it’s style as a paladin from a vendor just like all the other classes for the same amount of gold.

Nope.

It’s a free mount whilst others have to spend 75g - it could also be silenced/kicked in Classic which is perfectly reasonable. That’s the trade-off for a free mount.

So, no. It’s fine as is.

You two get it that I asked for an option to pay the same amount of gold for it like all the other classes that have to pay gold?

Then go buy a regular horse like every other human.

This comment is kinda obsolete.

Of course there is the option to buy a different mount just like other non-paladin classes do.
But that would mean to loose the ability to ride a mount that fits the paladin class fantasy. And that’s part of why I did this posting.

I am absolutely aware that a lot of players are on an anti-paladin trip here but what I suggested above is an option to pay as much gold for it as all the other players.
So paladins would have to spend an equal amount of gold for it.

That said paladins would not get it for free.

I don’t really see why this bothers all of you?

You could still use the pala mount. And you would have the option to use the other one in the cases you list.

So, just that I get your argument:

No. Paladins should not be able to purchase a mount for 75g (as much as all the other players) that has the same skin as the paladin mount because they already have another mount that does not cost any gold?

So what is the point here? The cost-free mount stays. The option to ride a different 75g mount stays. So why not let us have the paladin mount skin for 75g just like another normal mount?
