With the version change there are a lot of malfunctioning addons right now.
There is supposedly the option to turn on and off addons for every character you have at once by making a change in the “all” option instead of the one with your character name.
But somehow even the “all” option only seems to change settings for just for one character while if I create a new character, the active addons are different.
Is there some way to say to the game to “globally” turn all of or on a particular addon without having to do the same thing manually each time that I create a character?
normally works for me if i do it through the addon button on the l/h lower corner of the log in screen. then turn individual ones on/off through the relivent chatacter
If I use ‘All’ while logged into a character it does not control all.
If I do it from the Character Selection screen and change addons for all it has a greater chance of actually applying to all but still fails to do all.
You can submit a bug report in game and I do hope they fix that. It’s annoying.
In absence of that, I think I will take the opportunity to uninstall as many addons as I can to reduce the bloat.
for better or worse, the new UI seems to have more functionality
The addon management has been more or less broken for years. The workaround for your issue is to login to the new character and then logout and then click every single addon you have twice while the “all” option is selected. What that does is toggle the addon on/off correctly.
The issues that I know of
all option not working for new characters
character option not saving after first logout so I have to do the changes twice
ingame addon toggle not saving at all
character option changing the selection for all instead of individually
the disable/enable all addons randomly applying to all character or just one regardless of the chosen “all/character” setting
Sorry, had some irl stuff so couldn’t keep an eye on the thread. You just need to click each checkbox twice. It is still a massive pita, but it isn’t too bad if you can make multiple throwaway alts, login with each, then make sure “all” is selected in character select screen and click on each checkbox twice.
I’m kinda tempted to test Duskweave’s suggestion tbh. Copying a file from one location to another should be much simpler and less time consuming.
