I dont know if anyone at blizz will actually read this but dumping on old tales to make new ones isnt going to make the new tale better like from the start of shadowlands theres those subtle hints everywhere that “the army of the jailer rivals that of the legion” up to malganis claim that “argus the scourge and everything is part of the master plan” i mean why destroy 15 yrs of lore by stating that its all just manipulation from a super villan no one knows or care about. By doing that you’re simply removing why we loved warcraft in first place the tales of the illadan, legion, sargeras, arthas and the old gods… all dat was just some prank by the jailer why, how, and for what purpose… still doesnt make shadowlands story better or more enticing for players. So my point is reinforce old tales and build on em or write something completely new dont poop on old lore to make new one
i agree… but story is doomed anyway its too late
Can you not change old lore to make new tales
I wouldn’t hold out hope, as it has been done before. All we can do is take it for what it is. At least that is where I am and have been for some time.
Yeah there was retcons in the past, alkost every expansion brings a little of it with legion bringing more than others but now its like they said you know that thing called world of warcraft… screw that lets retcon the whole thing as well
And there might be nothing we can do but take it as it is but its just a fools hope i guess
…and it was all a dream. You wake up, in (enter your favourite expansion) era, as if nothing had truly come to pass.
You know that actually makes sense more than anything thats happening now. What if everything that we know is just a dream by a slumbering titan, azeroth or any other titan who awakes and goes like woooh i know whats going to happen and i know how to stop it… and there you just reset the whole universe and start a new with new stories twists that occur from altering the course of events that would have happened
or a long dream of Arthas the Lich King who dreamed everything that could have happened as a consequence of his own defeat and death.
Then he finally wakes up still in the Icecrown Citadel, determined to survive at all costs even more to avoid this terrible future not only for the Scourge but also for Azeroth. And the real Wrath of the Lich King expansion then starts for real this time (in a new WoW 2 )
There is nothing wrong with the current story telling. Idk what drugs you are on about lmao. The story is good as it is right now.
Well you missed the point there mate that was only a side argument for amusement and speculation nothing more the main point of the topic was to not alter everything each time they make new expansion some older stories are just good as they are so why meddle with em and ruin them. As mentioned before they spent so much time building the story of sargeras for example or arthas (considering all the books outside the game as well as the game) only to now mention that it was just part of a plan by a super being that was never even hinted at all this years.
sure yhe idea of a hidden thanos like villan is appealing but why just pull it out of a magical hat suddenly and throw it at all the old stuff destroying them
My point is keep the old tales as is make new ones regardless of how they are some may like some may not but dont distort old lore in the process
Don’t bother. He only really exists to waste peoples time.
