Can you roll on a tier piece you have already

Practically? Yes. You’ll almost never get an item if you select “transmog”, because nearly everyone rolls “need”. I don’t like it, but if I only need transmog from LFR and I spend my time in there (like everyone else), I’ll also roll “need”.

The system is flawed and expects players to all have the same definition of what “need” means. If they changed it so that “transmog” is a separate roll and the winner of the transmog roll gets the appearance (but not the item), more people would click this button.

I dislike Group Loot and would like Personal Loot back. Ironically, rolling need on everything is probably the best way to achieve this. The more people complain about Group Loot, the more likely it is that we’ll see changes.

This is a “blame the system, not the player” situation.

Honestly, if it’s the same exact item without any extras [socket/tertiary] that they got equipped or is in their bags already they shouldn’t be able to roll NEED on it tbh.

I accidentally rolled need instead of greed for a bracer and won it, said as such in Chat asking if anyone needed it which I was promptly asked for by one person so I gave it to them.

Following Boss had a transmog I wanted drop, your fella won it.

I jokingly said “damn, I could’ve traded those bracers for that” to them, and they gave me that won drop they got. Even waited for the loot timer to expire due to an afk to give them to me.

Was pleasantly happy with that.

If your bis item drops and someone rolled need for tmog and made that clear are you saying you’d be ok with that?

Well, I wouldn’t be happy about it, but that’s the case with any roll I didn’t win.
At the end of the day, they had just as much right to that item, so I personally would accept it (I wouldn’t start begging for the item for instance).

But like I have said several times now: I do want group loot to be replaced by personal loot in LFR. GL is not a fitting loot system for such an activity imo simply because the chances of ending up without a single piece of loot are much greater than they are with PL.
