Can you socket crafted items in DF?

Basically my vault is crap this week.

I could take the Aspect’s Token of Merit to buy a Storm-Charged Manipulator in order to socket my belt but I’m wearing the crafted 418 Plate Unstable Frostfire Belt.

The tooltips and whatever minimal info I’ve found aren’t very helpful and don’t specifically say it doesn’t allow it.

Does a Blue or anyone else know if I can attach a socket to the belt?

yes you can
and yes you can socket a crafted belt or helm or wrist
rings have sockets by default
