their lockouts are linked to do 25m heroic ( or hardmode whichever it is ) to get more shards, same for shadowmourne.

Only unobtainable legendaries I know of are Atiesh and the MoP and WoD ones.
Of course note that only classes with a healer spec can get it or use the mog.
You can, you just require a class that has a healing spec in order to loot.
I am farming it on my shaman.
You should usually get at least 2 shards per run, I’ve had runs ranging 2-5 shards each week.
Yogg-Saron is a guaranteed drop, for other bosses it seems doing them on hard mode (if applicable) increases the chance for a shard. And of course you should get the key to Algalon if you haven’t yet.

The best answer ever. I wouldn’t have expect it especially from a gnome. 
I was wondering is activating the hard mode worth it or not.
