Anyone else notice every single time you instance on a hunter that your track humanoids is turned off? requiring you to click the thing next to you mini map to re-enable it… that is After you realize its not even turned on
Eh ? Sorry I did not notice that, I usually have everything turned off and I selectively check a couple when I need to track specific things.
One example would be the “stealthed” check with I’m in Bracken Hollow or seeking the new Spirit Beasts in the Emerald Dream, because in the first case it shows me the ambusher gnolls in my minimap and in the second life it’s a quality of hunting life improvement, but turning everything on just clutters my maps to the point of being unusable.
100% but i only track humanoids (its really useful for pvp) But it turns itself off after every loading screen and did not do that before and i just want them to put it back the way it was
I’ll do some checks and get back to you, more data (and posts) means more attention.

I’m NOT in War Mode.
I checked “on” all the hunter tracking options, then used the Emerald Dream portal in Valdrakken, my Kirin Tor ring to jump to Old Dalaran, a guild cloak to get to the portal room in Stormwind, several portals in there to go back and forth between expansions, my Legion Hearthstone, my Garrisson Hearthstone, the portal in my Garrisson to go to A’shran, did a Timewalkers dungeon, used the portal in A’shran to go to Stormwind portal hall then Oribos, used the transfer platform to go to the upper circle, jumped down into the Maw to Ve’nari’s refuge, used the teleporter to go to Korthia (I’m still seeking a couple of Achievements, mounts and transmogs there, but still no Maelie nor enough 'shrooms for the Cuirassaur mount for me), used an Engineering toy to 'port to Zereth Mortis (again, hunting transmogs and mounts, but still no luck on the drop of the two schematics I’m missing, nor the rat-tail in the Mawsworn chests), used the portal back to Oribos then took a “commercial fligth” to the Theater of Pain in Maldraxxus for the daily boss kill to get the mount (still nothing after more than 23 months of daily attempts) and the Combat Pet World Quest (still no Radius for me, got training stone instead), used my refreshed Engineer toy to go to Ardenweld to dump my Anima (still need around 45K for the last transmog sets), then finally used my standard Hearthstone to get back to Valdrakken.
Through all those jumps during almost 3 hours, all of my hunter’s tracking kept active, not a single time did one “uncheck”.
So I think you have either a corrupted installation (happens way too often), a problem with the War Mode (you said you use it in PvP, yes ?), or a bugged interraction with an add-on or plug-in.
