Can you use WoW token to basically transfer gold between servers (with a "tax")?

So here is the thing. The Antorus tier set includes BoE’s with like 0.00000001% drop rates. All 4 versions.

Even though I am supposedly on a “high” population server, the game has so few players remaining that there are none of these items on the AH. Maybe very rarely one or two for hundreds of thousands of gold.

Now, according to some websites, these items actually do exist on a few mega servers like Kazzak, and for reasonable prices, too (only a few 10k gold). My idea is to just buy these items there and use a trial character to learn the transmog.

But of course I still need the gold on this other server, so does it work to buy a WoW token on my server, and then use that to buy gold in Kazzak? I know Blizzard takes a cut, but it’d still very much worth it.

Yes you can. It’s how boost communities operate to pay their boosters on certain realms.

So you buy a token. Turn it into Bnet currency. Log your toon on another realm. Buy the token for 20 bucks and put it on the AH of that realm.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to buy 2 wow tokens in that case to have enough battle net balance to buy the token you can sell on the AH.

This means you’ll pay ~600k on your server for ~300k on the other one (+6€ bnet balance).

I see. Well, it’s not happening these days then, i have around 250k G, so almost enough for one token, but definitely not 2.

Thanks for the answers.

Consider pets.

You can acquire a pet on your realm, and learn it.

Then you can make an alt on Kazzak or whatever other realm, and cage the pet there. You can then sell the caged pet.

Trading in pets cross-realm is not a fast or reliable business. It can be quite lucrative if you have patience and know your markets, but as a beginner in a hurry, you’re surely going to lose gold in the exchange.

However, the amount of gold will be will within your budget, since you can decide which pets to trade between realms, and it won’t be anything like a Token’s worth.

Start by looking up

Antorus may generally fall into the category of:
a) not worth bothering with, as it’s old, or
b) it can be solo’d/ done with a small group of friends

… for those who want to complete gear sets; that would account for the scarcity of said BoE’s on Realms you would be able to use them on.

The pet thing might still be the way to go. I fully expect losses, but even that is probably less than the 30% cut with the token.

Your best shot is swapping gold with someone on kazzak for good in ur server.

Depending on ur server there may be no tax or small tax

If it’s literally 10 gold then you can very easily acquire the 10 gold in a few minutes.

I made a typo, it’s a few 10k, some pieces on some servers as low as 15-20k.

I was actually thinking I should farm Ghost Iron Ore or something with a trial character, idk…

just swap gold with someone on kazzak from your main realm, you’ll get small tax but nothing crazy

Well, good luck finding anyone who has a character that he/she cares about both on Kazzak and Arathor.

do you have discord?

A very relevant question.

The WoW Market Discord has a gold-swapping channel, and I have suggested it in the past to people, but mostly they prefer not to, so I don’t any more.

Gold swapping between realms is not forbidden by Blizzard, but it is not supported either. If something goes wrong with the trade, Blizzard will not get you your gold back.

Regular sizeable traders often also set minimum fees (like 20K-50K) for trades, and swapping from Arathor to one of the large realms is not going in the usually favourable direction, but it should be possible to find someone to trade with.

a slower method i used was battle pets, buy on 1 server, sell on another

Good idea but the pet market for high price ones is so stagnant atm :frowning:

True. And not just at the moment. :stuck_out_tongue: That’s where patience usually comes in.

The pet market is a) slow and b) irrational. Apart from the Ikky Craze, patterns are hard to spot.

In an extreme hurry, one could advertise on a high-pop realm, offering discount pets that you would buy from home. Someone who likes negotiating might actually find it fun.

I’ve made some modest gold from cross-realm pet trading. I started with an alt on Silvermoon and one on Draenor, selling common pets with decent tradeability, and recently-introducd pets, to accumulate some capital. 9.1 has been out long enough that nothing could now be considered recent, but 9.2 will change that, for sure, when it arrives.

Thanks for the offer. On Silvermoon there seems to be only the Mythic version up right now, which is the most common one (not sure why, maybe the drop rate is higher or more people run Mythic Antorus than the others?), so I’m not too worried about that version.

For whatever reason, the Normal one is exceedingly rare.

Anyway, I think I found someone who can help me later this afternoon
