maybe we expect too much because we’ve seen better casual content in other games idk.
You are new to the forums arent you?^^
For some. Speaking with others seems such a huge obstacle that any form of group content is considered “hard core”.
Hey. I dont agree with this but its what some people write on these forums on different topics.
WoW has always been about main 2 pillars(PvP and raids. Adding the third pillar m+ in legion). Everything else was just a side show or something “to waste time while waiting for raids or PvP”. Even Wotlk Vanilla it was “raid or die”. If you didn’t raid or do pvp then you had absolutely nothing to do.
For example FFXIV has it reversed where world content is the main selling point and all the savage, ultimate raids/duties/trials are just some minor sideshow.
Not saying or comparing WoW vs FFXIV.(thats a different topic so lets not go there). Only saying that each product has their main audience…
I wish there was a ffxiv with WoW’s feel and graphics
The non casual content is just Mythic Raid and high keys. It’s not like that is a massive amount of extra stuff.
First of all, this.
The whole game is predicated on progression, and progression is defined as “I can kill this thing I couldn’t kill last week” or “I can kill this thing faster than I could last week”.
People who have joined since Legion might not even know what this means. But that’s another day’s argument.
Also, this.
In Dragonflight, Blizzard have limited progression outside instances to about an hour a week. May-y-be two. Once you have caught up to the base level for the patch, you have very limited options to get upgrades. Once you have done those few things, you’re done for the week.
I sorta differ with you here. I think it should be Normal level, but without Tier. I admit this is arguable, and could vary from patch to patch, depending on the length of the patch. But the speed of increase might well slow down after LFR level.
The point is not the final level, but that a satisfying level of progess is available each week.
If I just wanted HC gear today, I’d have it. (OK, I might have to wait till reset, depending on the group.) My cerdit card is well-oiled and in working order. It currently costs 5-6 Tokens for full HC gear. Or I could go the budget route with multilple cheaper runs and M+ and take my chances on filling the slots.
The game has changed. You have to stop thinking of gear as something you need to earn. It’s been for sale for years, and Blizzard is fine with that as long as they get their cut.
Mythic gear, I grant you, would be much more expensive.
We sort of have both with the current system.
424 is the level normal raid level gear drops at. But of course, normal raid level gear can get upgraded further than that
So it depends on how you look at it, but world gear and lfr gear is sorta normal raid gear
What a post. Take a bow everyone.
Always sad to me that the best posts on this forum are hidden away deep in a thread like this where no one is going to read it.
To have fun ?
Fun???!!! What? Who? This is world of warcraft. No fun allowed! If you have fun => kick
its just sad that people like you exist. It’s like you literally miss the point in even playing this game…the content.
Just because you want to be the failure route that is fine, but it isn’t the norm. You are robbing yourself.
I unironically would love it if Blizzard banned boosting. Maybe then people like you could get some skill or leave. Idc which
I personally would like to see ENGAGING casual content.
As for “harder content” like mythic plus or whatever.
I’m more than capable of playing. I just choose not to because the only thing that makes group content hard is having to endure the attitudes and egos of people who don’t seem to understand a videogame is exactly that.
A videogame and not a reason to cover yourself in camo paint, tie a dirty and sweat-ridden red bandana across your brow, crack your knuckles before sitting down in front of your PC or console or whatever device you have and think your world will crumble and your existence will be meaningless because your chosen set of pixels was killed by another set of pre programmed pixels so you feel the need to belittle other players.
Maybe the problem therefore, is not the lack or too much casual content, but a problem with elitism which puts casuals like me off…
“challenging content”.
Such is the fate of videogaming when e-sports wormed it’s way into it.
attitude and ego stems from people that are incapable. It’s a reaction.
If you can’t read basic mechanics, that’s on you. I don’t blame anyone for expecting others in m+ to research and learn beforehand.
I would bet all the gold i have, that if we did a m+ dungeon together…you would have 0 clue what is going on.
But keep crying elitism.
“it’s just a game” doesn’t excuse how bad you are
i would like more solo challenging content, im a casual too but i like doing some challenging stuff by myself and to test myself, because im not very social for harder group content.
I never tanked in my life and did the prot warrior challenge in legion, it was very fun.
He’s paying 13 bucks a month to post on forums, new casual unlocked.
Wow. How is it even POSSIBLE fdor you not to understand that?
People upthread suggest that other casuals and I just want gear. That’s wrong. That’s galse. I don’t. And you know we don’t because we doin’t buy boosts, which would be the easy thing if their assertion was correct.
I think the ilvl from world content as is is fine. It wouldn’t hurt / I wouldn’t mind throwing 2-3 wyrm crests a week into the mix (World boss, Fyrakk dragon) and removing the option to buy them from the vault. This doesn’t really affect available ilvls either, it just makes the acquisition method more obvious and less obtuse.
The problem with world content for me is twofold
- No Goals
The removal of a world content set and shift from deterministic pieces to “Everything can drop anything” style acquisition has left world content kind of adrift. Progression feels completely arbitrary now, and items have lost all their meaning because they have no discrete source. You want a helm? Do Fyrakk event maybe it drops. You want a belt? Do Fyrakk event maybe it drops. You want a chest? Guess what? Do Fyrakk event maybe it drops. The issue isn’t necessarily the rng nature of the drops, it’s the lack of distinct sources + massive loot pool of 20-22 items making the whole thing feel completely out of your control.
- No solo content
The rares aren’t soloable besides tanks and hunters. The Fyrakk event is 2/3 soloable and the dragon at the end is a 5-10 person job. There’s just not really anything worthwhile to do once you’ve done the 10 minutes of weekly content.
Yes… As is evident by people screaming in LFR when they wipe “IVE DONE THIS ON HEROIC YOU ALL SUCK!”.
yes, you’re right. They are incapable of defeating “casual mode”. So the egos and attitudes belong to people who like to profess how good they are at a videogame, yet are also who can’t beat a boss in LFR (and here was me thinking half the raid can go afk and 5 players can just auto-attack it) and rage quit after a wipe. Glad we cleared that up.
Oh dear When I was in a guild, I HAD to read up on mechanics and not JUST mechanics. I also had to look up achievement requirements so the entire raid could get their mounts as I was the one who led raids for that purpose. I left the e-preening for people like you while everyone else in the guild had fun. I also very clearly stated why I don’t play Mythic plus. It should not be too difficult for other people reading your reply, why I don’t. All you are doing is vindicating me.
Then I’ll take that gold now because only a complete and utter idiot would go into any such content unprepared. For the most basic of info, I’d even read the provided in-game journal.
Sadly for you lad, the vast majority of people do go prepared.
But I wonder how you would fare if such… help… was not so widely available like it was in the old days. Imagine it. Going into videogame content and not having your hand held by other people!
Why gosh. You would just be like everyone else! How terribly vexing for your ego.
Not one of your better thought-out answers it must be said.
But thank you once again for the vindication of why I prefer not to play mythic plus.
Because it is. Your “retorts” only give weight if not fully vindicate the post you replied to while screaming “WHO IS THIS CASUAL NOOB!!” like all your other posts, you seem unable or more likely don’t want to accept that you’re playing a videogame that has different content for different players. But meh. All so tiresomely predictable.
It IS just a game. And here’s the main point which you will NEVER fully understand because your ego won’t allow it.
When you stop playing the game, your mythic dungeon progress ends in the game.
Or perhaps you’re the type of person who bores the pants off everyone by loudly declaring you’ve beaten so and so in this so-and-so video game. The only other people nodding and agreeing with are the other people everyone has basically ignored because they are also egotistical elitists being egotistically elitist over something utterly inconsequential as a video game.
You’d be amazed how many of these kids I see every day at my work.
And for added zest, I’ve been playing games for so long that I can remember playing games on the easy mode that would make your average “pro” gamer nowadays melt in 10 seconds.
Play a few games like Ghosts n Goblins, Contra, or even older games like Jet Set Willy then get back to me about how “easy” casual games are.
People of my generation will appreciate the Jet Set Willy reference, you will be hard-pushed to find a more challenging game.
You’d also be amazed at how many of these kids get verrrrry upset when I say “ok… want a game of Street Fighter?” and promptly wipe the floor with them because I know how to play said game and the "nub who doesn’t play “CoD beat me in a videogame!”
Playing it since 1987 also helps.
But here’s the fun part. I don’t feel the need to belittle them like you chose to do in this thread. I also suspect very strongly that I am indeed better than you at playing video games in general, not just WoW.
Funny that.
Gatekeeping difficulty in the special olympics of competitive video games known as World of Warcraft roflmao. (To be fair what they achieve in the special Olympics is extremely impressive, unlike what g8mers ´´achieve´´ by sitting in a chair and drinking mountain dew).
Good lord you are an insufferable human being.
He/she is definately deranged…I flagged his/her reply…
Its not normal to speak like this to someone…
