Cannot add payment method

Posting a new thread as other threads with this issue appear fairly old. As the topic suggests I cannot add a payment method to purchase anything from the store. I was trying to purchase the new WoW Midnight expansion, wanted to add my credit card to buy it however it just tells me “Heads up! Something went wrong. Select another payment method or try again later.”.

I’ve tried adding the money as Bnet Balance to use that, but I can’t because it won’t let me add my credit card in order to purchase the balance.

I tried going to the web browser version of the store. Exactly the same error.

I tried logging into my account and adding a new payment method, where it gives me options for Credit Card and Paypal, both just say “An error has occurred.”.

I have tried everything I can find in the FAQ’s, so generic advice about clearing caches etc won’t cut it. A quick internet search shows me that this is a fairly common issue.

It is literally impossible for me to give Blizzard money at the moment, my subscription is due for renewal shortly before Midnight launches and if this continues much longer I will be cancelling. I doubt anyone at Blizzard will pay this any attention, but if anybody has any advice for solving this it would be appreciated.

That definitely happened to me before. Never had an issue with PayPal thankfully.

If all the workarounds failed, I’d advise you to just open a ticket under Payments. State what you already tried and that there seems to be no issue on your or your bank’s part. I also found it might be good to specifically ask them to check for payment locks or fraud flags on the account as it should help avoid an automatic response.

If you’ve already been through the technical troubleshooting steps (just in case, you can find a good summary here), and the payment is still not going through, it would most commonly be down to your payment provider declining the transaction.

Definitely do give another payment method, such as PayPal a try if you can, but other than that you’ll want to contact your payment provider directly as a next step.

I get the “Heads up! Something went wrong select another payment option or try again later.” error right after I fill the address, i.e., before I can put any detail on bank card. I tried multiple: browsers, OS, machines, accounts, and COUNTRIES! It was of no help. Clearly, Blizzard doesn’t want money anymore.

P.S. I tried to add a ticket on that regard, but I get “You can’t submit this ticket. You already have the maximum number of active tickets.”, even though I only have 6 tickets for the entire account. Blizzrard’s support is one of the worst I’ve encountered worldwide. At it’s not even a financial organization that needs KYC.

P.P.S. I guess I will get back in SWTOR. Never had such problems there.

Same here. The funny part is that a single-use cards with a fixed balance goes through, but my personal cards (DE and UK) do not.

So I have to top up with codes from G2A, thats cringe.
