Trying to create earthen shaman, changed the name several times and then to utter nonsense and I still get the error message. Frustrating as hell…
I’m going to join in. I wanted to create an Earthen Shaman on Antonidas. Name is displayed in green. Then a timeout with abort follows. After that you are stuck in an endless loading loop when loading the character list. You can only get out by pressing ALT+F4. My ticket has been open for about 7 hours. I thought I would confirm this here, in the hope that the English-speaking support is a bit more active than our German part.
I even tried out several names. Even deleted characters and tried their names. Although every name is displayed as “available”, it doesn’t work.
My Wife and i can’t start playing our Earthen because she is unable To create one. Timeouts all the Time.
Gods i am afraid of how many Game breaking Bugs we will discover along the Expac. QA really seems to be in a bad State.
The thing with the Names seems to be Random cause no matter what Name she tries its all ending in Timeouts. Please remove the “Solution” part or no Support Staff will ever look at this.

Dreanor-EU Earthen Warrior creation.
Character creation gets timeout, and charakter list cant be read anymore so one is forced to forcequit WoW
-Pc restart and WoW restart did not solve the issue, still can not create Earthen character
EDIT: also Tried another name even though the first one did have the green tick. With a new name it worked immediately.

Weird how the game can bug out so hard because of trying with a name that shows free but really are busy. Having to alt+f4 for such thing

Thanks for all the information posted so far. This has been reported to our developers, but they haven’t found any issue with the character creation itself (which seeing from the latest replies, may be caused by the flag name already being used).
If you’re still getting the error today, could you please confirm:
- The name that you’re trying to use for your new Earthen
- The realm that you’re on
If you’re afraid of getting the name sniped or don’t want to post it publicly, feel free post the information, and then edit your post to remove the name / realm, we should still be able to see the edit on our end.

Today i could create my char with the name i was trying with yesterday so it seem to have been some other kind of issue other then the name being supposedly occupied (which it apparently wasn’t since i know got it 
) So the game was correct in giving the green checkbox. So something else made the char creation timeout resulting in having to alt + f4. This was for “Earthman-Tarren Mill” (yes i know, super name 
)

In this case, is anyone still having issues creating an Earthen today?

Btw, it wasn’t just Earthen i couldn’t even create any other race either
