Cannot unlock climbing or photography world quests - Doc Nanners won't speak to me!

I have tried and tried and tried to get Doc Nanners to appear to me to unlock both the photography and climbing World Quests for the Dragonscale Expedition. My renown is currently level 13, so more than high enough. World Quests are unlocked and I have completed the main campaign,

I can see him in Valdrakken and he is simply ‘excited to see me’ but won’t load or give me the breadcrumb quest. He is the same at the Dragonscale Base Camp - just stares at me, giving me nothing.

I have tried, following advice seen on Wowhead:

  • Entering War Mode and then turning if off
  • Hanging around in Valdrakken for 15+ minutes to see if he appears
  • Porting in and out of Valdrakken repeatedly

None of the above seem to work - and it’s going to be a very long rep grind without those WQ’s (even with the buffs!)

Can anyone offer any advice or help for what may be causing this?

Do you actually need Doc Nanners to give you the breadcrumb?

Have you tried just talking to Pathfinder Jeb and Cataloger Coralie directly?

A nice thought but no - Jeb will sell me things and Coralie just tells me about the wonders of nature. Neither has a quest icon.

Any other ideas? (or from anyone else)

The completionist in me is dying!

have you switched alts at some point?
you have to finish on that character the chain to unlock it

I only have one character at the level (a couple of nowhere toons under level 20, haven’t been to Dragon Isles but nothing else!)

It looks like this is a bug introduced with the latest patch.

This is still broken, it seems.

I can confirm that it is still broken, which is really frustrating. Since I haven’t complete the quest, there are daily quests I cannot complete either. I have seen other people get the quest, but none of them seems to know what they did to unlock the quest. ><

It’s still broken for me too!

Bizarrely, in the patch two weeks ago, the photography breadcrumb appeared and last week the Waygate breadcrumb(s) appeared. I was hoping that the climbing breadcrumb would appear this week, but no joy.

As a completionist, this does massively bother me so I hope Blizzard fixes soon! If anyone discovers anything, do let me know!
The rep grind has been better than expected, now that I have the photo quests however.

20 hours ago I opened a ticket to see if that would help. 20 minutes ago I got a response that thanked me for my patience, send me a link to WoWhead, and then pinned the ticket as answered. And no. I still can’t get the quest!

I’m having the same issue, four tickets in and all I get is Wowhead links. So far I’ve tried:

  • Warmode on/off on all my characters
  • Trying to speak to Jeb / Coralie on all my characters
  • Swearing at the game extensively
  • Disabling add-ons and repeating the above
  • Following this one shady video where Doc Nanners apparently spawned in Azure Span.

This is one of my very last steps for Taivan, but I can not start it. You’re all in the same boat, so I hope we get a solution soon.

I finally managed to get “A Climber’s Calling”. What you have to do, and it is so stupid, is get Renown 6 with the Dragonscale Expedition on the character that first reached level 60 on your account. NOT the character that first came to the Dragon Isles, but the character that reached level 60 first.

I only have one character on my account. I’ve only ever had one character.

sigh It’s looking like I’m never getting Taivan! Come on Blizzard - you can fix this!

Another re-set has come and gone, it’s still broken!
