Cannot Verify Digital Signature - Battle.Net error

I received the above error again today when reopening the BattleNet app (minimised on my taskbar) which had been running perfectly fine the evening before. It’s the second time in two weeks that this error has happened.

I have not moved or reinstalled BattleNet app nor any applications and it’s a PITA when it happens. From other articles, it seems to be an issue that has been around since 2019 by the look of it.

I really would like to know what causes it to happen as I have NEVER experienced it before and I’ve been playing WoW since 2005!

If anyone else has started to see this error, which seems to appear on Windows macines too, it would be good to know.

Isn’t that a windows security thing for the server versions?

I think it’s some OOBE software as well.

I use a MAC, so not for me but could be for the Windows users that have experienced the same issue.

There have been no recent MAC OS updates; basically nothing had changed when I got the first instance and same for when it happened yesterday. Just would like to understand what could be causing it

The computer cannot verify the program running the app is genuine. Sometimes it means that either Blizzard have stopped support for Macs or the security certificate is not up to date.

Blizzard have not stopped support for MACs as far as I know where Warcraft is concerned. There is a published article in WOW support on how to fix it; I would just like to know what is making it happen.

I told you, if they stopped support then the Mac security certificate has expired.

No need to get snippy… The certificate is valid until 2029. If it was out of date I would have mentioned it.
