Cannot Watch Cutscenes In-Game

Just to start there have been previous posts regarding this before but I’m feeling lost as I’ve followed all previous steps for a fix:

  • Re installed WoW
  • Repaired / Scanned Folders
  • Changed VPN and DNS settings
  • Switched off Addons
  • Run Admin
  • Deleted WTF / Interface folders

Does anyone else have any recommendations or a possible work around? Having gone through alot of posts on here, Reddit and other community sites this issue seems to be common without any permanent fixes.

I would love to get a Blue responce if possible as the game crashes whenever a cutscene plays, my enjoyment of Undermine(d) has been staggered because of this :frowning:

No idea if this will help you … but i got this from chatgpt.

If the cinematics are being skipped automatically rather than causing crashes, here are some possible solutions:

Fix for WoW Skipping Cinematics Automatically

  1. Check Game Settings

    • Open Game Menu (Esc) → System → Advanced
    • Look for Cinematics Playback and set it to Always
  2. Reset UI Settings

    • Go to Game Menu → System → Advanced
    • Click Reset UI to restore default settings
    • This can fix settings that might be forcing cinematics to skip
  3. Delete Cache & WTF Folder

    • Close WoW
    • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_
    • Delete the Cache and WTF folders
    • Restart WoW and test
  4. Disable Auto-Skip Option (if available)

    • Some expansions had an auto-skip for seen cinematics
    • If there’s an option for it in the settings, make sure it’s disabled
  5. Try Without Addons

    • Some addons (like questing addons) might be auto-skipping cinematics
    • Disable all addons and test if cinematics play normally
  6. Check Keybinds for “Skip Cinematic”

    • Go to Keybindings
    • Check if any keys are bound to “Skip Cinematic” (like Escape or Space)
    • Unbind it and test
  7. Corrupted Game Files

    • Scan & Repair via Battle.net:
      • Open Battle.net Launcher → World of Warcraft
      • Click the Settings (gear) icon → Scan & Repair
      • Wait for the process to complete and restart the game
  8. Check Your Account Settings

    • If you are playing on a different Battle.net account, some settings may prevent cinematics from playing
    • Try logging into another account (if available) to see if the issue persists

If none of these work, it might be a bug with Undermine(d) specifically. In that case, reporting it to Blizzard through the in-game Bug Report tool or the forums might be the best move.

If the game is actually crashing when a cutscene occurs - I suggest capturing the details of the crash and submitting an in game bug report for QA to investigate:

The CS reps on the forum aren’t able to help with game bugs and defects (beyond sometimes confirming if it’s already a known issue under investigation).
