So I decided to play again for shadowlands pre-patch and add game-time but there’s an issue.
When I go into my character selection I can resub using my blizzard balance or in-game gold and currently, I have 200k gold on one of my characters, and the wow-token price is 196k but when I want to use gold in character selection it says not enough gold for some reason…
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me? If you have any solutions I would be pleased to hear it.
There was a blue post very recently replying to someone about this. Something about if your amount of gold is too close to the selling price you can’t do it in case the price changes during the transaction.
I’m sure I’m not imagining it - will see if I can find the post.

No you didn’t actually, because I also saw it and thought at the time “Thats a weird way to handle it, but ok”
That makes sense because I asked my friend to check if he can add game-time and it was fine for him but he had almost 250k. If you found the post let me know so I can make sure that’s the case.
I can’t find the post anywhere. I thought it odd too but assumed they’d changed policy. But it could explain your problem.
There’s this support article that does say it though:
It says “you may receive an error if this would zero out the gold for any character”
But right now it won’t use all of my golds down to zero I will have like 1-2k remaining gold on my character. Thanks for the help anyway.
It also says “Due to the constant fluctuation of the token prices, if you only have just enough gold to purchase the token, you must log into the game to make the purchase.”
The little amount of gold difference may be just the problem.
Its weird because what Blizzard are saying…

It is a bit odd, but maybe their system would break if you did it at the moment the cost went up but that’s obviously the rules now so I’m afraid that’s probably why you can’t buy it, Matsuura.
