I was waiting this TW event so badly to buy the lvl 60 upgrade for all my heirlooms without wasting any gold, I did tiwewalking dungeon runs in BFA until I got 120k timewarped badges. And I’ve been doing that every expansion to upgrade them.
This morning I bought several of them with my 60s but when I logged in with alts the upgrade wasn’t even there.
My alts are all 50-58 and none of them can see the new upgrade. Only level 60 characters allowed me to buy them.
I used several characters with and without The Maw intro skipped. Also characters with campaign (level 58) and characters with Threads of Destiny, none of them have the new upgrades on the timewalking vendor. Only level 60s do.
Is this working as intended?
Edit: You can buy them for gold at any level, why not with timewarped badges?
I bought them in previous expansions with lower levels, also you can buy them for gold at lvl 50 but not with timewarped badges. That’s the main reason for my complain.
As i said, I farmed all this currency in BFA before they changed heirlooms. They are not useful as they used to be but I enchant them and use gems on Garrosh weapons and they work pretty well.
They are useful in SL mostly at the beginning because you have 50-60 ilvl and they scale to 98 ilvl once you reach level 51.
Fair enough. I’ve not bought heirlooms for a while. I think when they were introduce first that you had to be max level to get them as the point of them was to level alts faster.
I have some with enchantments on them and they are quite good at lower levels, alts feel really powerful up to around level 30, after that I think they’re about as good as quest rewards. I don’t have the Garrosh heirloom weapons though, so can’t really comment on those.
Don’t bother with heirlooms I just spent a fortune on upgrading them to max, Just got my alt to lvl 50 bought the 40 renown used it heirloom Ilvl at lvl 50 is 58, blue item rewards from dailies Ilvl 84 purple items Ilvl 104.
They jump massively at 51 (112? iirc) I’ve been levelling with them and they generally stay ahead of the rewarded gear. The 4 threads of fate weapon rewards seem to be the only ones that beat the ‘loom ilvl.
