It looks like this for the 3 IP’s you’ve given. I also can get around using ProtonVPN but the problems persists without it.

Can we please get an update on the situation at hand?

It’s been almost 8 hours of downtime for us and there is still no formal verification from Blizzard’s side that a problem exists and that they’re working on a solution.

Blizzard’s CS EU Twitter is also full of complaints and no one from Blizzard seems to give any feedback, except the typical copy/paste responses.

Thank you for your continued support.

P.S. Every Blizzard game is affected, not only WoW.

What’s even more funny is that people can’t even log in here on forums to post they have a problem. I guess EU is not important enough.

Like I said before obviously everyone posting here will show you the same winMTR data. Some have done the test and posted on twitter because they can’t log in here to post it. Quick check from a non blizzard employee here.

It seems anyone using: Wind - Greece, Telia - Lithuania, A1 - Bulgaria are not able to use your services. It was working fine until 4 AM EEST today which was when I logged out. Using VPN will let you bypass the issue. But we need a real fix not a bypass.

Can we at least get an announcement with an ETA? It seems this has been an issue for half a day. This is not a free service, neither is Blizzard an indie developer for this issue to take longer to even be acknowledged let alone fixed.

The problem was less severe than it is today. Last year, we would just get disconnected every 15-20 minutes from the game or the game would lag spike and freeze for like 30 seconds before lagging everyone out. Lots of mid-European countries were affected as well. They located the problem at a major hub, near France, one network hop before the main Battlenet servers. Some people even pointed out the faulty machine, since it was the one lagging out the most and dropping packets all the time. I think it took something like a week to sort out.

But this time it’s way worse. We can’t login anywhere and do anything. It’s like we’re being firewalled from all the services and it also happened all of a sudden earlier this morning.

IMHO, they should be looking for some automated procedure that blocked a major network backbone. I don’t think the problem is man-made, since it occurred at like 6:30AM in the morning and it appears to affect a lot of Eastern European/Balkan countries.

I’m just requesting an update because I think the situation has not been escalated yet, due to their internal policies. I think it requires a number of complains before they can escalate it.

So please, everyone affected, please post here and on Blizzard’s CS EU Twitter to let them know and keep the pressure up, so they can be forced to solve this quickly.

Good luck getting many complaints, I am amazed we have gathered so many so far.

This will probably take a month to resolve from what it seems like. Unlucky.

Just a heads up.

Not trying to start a fire here, but please be cautious when using VPN services while accessing Battle net.

There have been numerous occasions where people had their accounts banned or terminated for “Account Sharing”, since Blizzard is cross-referencing your physical login locations. This applies to cross-atlantic VPN connections etc.

If it takes a more than a day I want a refund. Someone posted on twitter that Blizzard got DDoSed so an oopsie happened and similar IPs got blocked. Fix this ffs.
We won’t be able to collect even more complaints since people can’t login to post. And on twitter blizzard is more concerned replying with check with your ISP and having casual convos with people who don’t have a connection issue.

Ultimately they could force us to use VPNs to play the game since it’s cheaper for them to not pursue fixing this issue.

Same problem. i can not connect to anything battle.net related. ISP (wind.gr) claims that it is not their problem. Is there any easy way to set up a vpn at least? and mostly is it safe to use it?
