Cant decide tank, suggestions please? :)

between druid, warr and dk.

fun and utility over everything else but i do enjoy high keys

DK is my personal love. I would never change it, though I have all the other tanks as well.

DK all day everyday, especially if fun is a deciding factor for you.

Full agency over your health is great, plus the mob control is crazy with the near endless amount of grips, which can be invaluable in some dungeons and raids. Having all the mobs in one place, instead of doing spread cleave dps speeds up keys a lot.

Plus you can immune push and knockbacks, stuns, fears charms and sleeps, almost every magic mechanic with AMS, have AMZ for grp, etc etc etc, its an amazing spec

noob question. i never played as tank. but i rarely see monk in the discussions about tank. Is so bad?

If you’re not planning to go over 11’s, anything should do. If you are gonna pug, you need a meta tank to have an easier time with invites. War and druid are the safer bets.

Even though personally i prefer DK from those.

good point of draghonis.
in the end its personal pref.
what you enjoy more for reason xy.

for me it is the warrior. yeah, selfheal is low, but i looooove all the buttons for damage negation. its like reverse dps  it is fun to dodge, block, parry, absorb and get the best out of it.

warry has the tanky feel and is rewarding when played right.

druide i played a long time ago and it felt a bit boringish. just a meatbag with lots of life and armor. might has changed.

dk, never tried, but i heard the self heal is pure lol.

Not nearly as bad as people claim it to be, but it’s among the harder tank specs with a high skill ceiling, and not a lot of people can play it at the highest levels.

But for +10s if you are not pushing very high keys, every spec is totally viable, bm monk included.

Monks are harder to play and need more work to achieve similar results. Easy to screw up. Require a different mindset and more group help.
I find that the mitigation mini game takes attention away. You need to react quickly with your brews. This in turn may lead you to miss an interrupt or stun.

They are viable though. Just not meta.

As a professional Protection Warrior Potato Tank: Protection Warrior

as a healer main i have to say i vastly prefer to heal warriors over any other listed.
also warriors are really iconic tanks, stalwart warriors big shield.

dks is my least favorite to play with.

Also it is important to know, what exactly fun is for you.

For example I like the fact that DK is has a lot of space for improving your technique.
I saw people get globalled in +7 while my HP rarely ever moves in +9s and only a little in +10s.

I would say closest to this in potential is prot warrior, where you can really make the pulls seem very sexy.

Or it can be visuals, for example Guardian druid with Claw hero talents is very raw and visceral feel.

Lightsmith Prot Pala kinda felt to me biggest on being part of the crew, part of the ship feeling.

Brewmaster isn’t bad, it is interesting but it is closest spec that feels DPS-like, which I imagine isn’t very tasty. Also, it is one tank with probably biggest dependance on skill of your healer.

You dont really have to heal it tho, a good bdk can live off aoe heals.

No offense but healers moaning about bdk health jumping up and down is so old at this point. Like yeah, that’s how this spec works, get over it. Make our health bar disappear, and just track our runic power instead, or idk what would help you out at this point if you couldn’t get used to it over the years.

exactly. i dont like seeing my bad dks flop over and over. so ergo my least favorite tank to play with i have no power over them.

Monk is greatest Tank ever!
So chill to heal and controll aggro. Also good defs and self heals

Do you get excited when you need to dunk half of your action bar into a less self sufficient tank spec?
I’m not judging, just curious at this point xd

Druid is simple and easy to learn in higher keys

Warrior is an iconic brickwall, also easy but more fun than druid and has the least jumpiest hp bar of the three

DK is the glue sniffer tank spec mostly and also a dead spec in high keys. Theres only like 3 unique DKs in top 100. Also the most stressful to play and u have a grip but at that point u might aswell play a DH and have more fun

so dk tank in high keys is bad ? :frowning:

It has definitely harder time depending on comp and key level. It all depends on how well a BDK is handled, its gear level (BDK scales with ilvl ludicrously) and to me it seems to prefer melee comps.

My personal best setup is when Disc priest is healer and there is at least one Assassin rogue. And there exists specific high-key niche build which is turbo durable, but requires some experience with spec.

another question that might be interessting, which tank is the best for pvp content? no idea.

so in reality if i wanna not be stressed out in high keys and have actual viability its either druid or warrior?
