so I have two characters I want to delete but it wont let me because I apparently have mail in my mail box. However, when I check the mail box i have no mail at all. So I changed my account from the starter edition to a one month subscription to see if that would work, but it didn’t. I don’t have any add ons and I don’t have any mail in my mail box and yet it keeps saying “can’t delete character has mail”
Try changing mail pages, it worked for me when i had hidden mails. You can also delete cache folder.
Nope, wont even change pages.

Make sure you try to reset your interface, or just disable your addons as they could be causing an empty mail not to be shown.
If you have done so and you can’t see any mails and you still can’t start the character service please don’t hesitate to contact our Game Masters so they can help you out!
Nope. Done exactly as you said, renamed the files and still cant delete the two characters. Still no mail in mail box either and btw I had already said i had no add ons.

Considering your initial description of the problem chances are that the Starter Edition limitations are not yet removed from the account, it can take up to 24 hours from the moment of the subscription for that to happen.
In your account transaction history you should be able to see the status of the order, if it’s marked as queued or pending then what I mentioned above is indeed what is happening here 
In that case not seeing in-game mails would be intended, and you just need to wait a bit more. As soon as the restrictions are lifted - the order status will also switch to Complete - you’ll be able to see and delete the in game messages ^^
