Hello I just started playing WoW again after a long break. I leveled a mage to lvl 10 (lvl 25 at this moment) and started doing the dragonflight content. I choose (Dragonflight) enchanting for a profession, but I can’t disenchant any gear i get from quests/mobs in the Dragon Isle. I can however disenchant the gear I got from the starting island, but this will only level up my classic enchanting. Does anyone know why I can’t disenchant dragonflight content gear or how to fix this problem?

Each expansion has its own training for its own section of profession.
Have you gone to a Dragonflight Enchanting Trainer and learned Dragonflight Enchanting? There’s one by the Embassy in the starting area of the Waking Shores and one in Valdrakken.
Yes I’ve learned dragonflight enchanting at the trainer at the Waking Shores. My dragonflight enchanting is 1/100. I can see the dragonflight enchanting starter recipes. I need chromatic dusts to create them. I guess these chromatic dusts come from Dragonflight gear when disenchanted, but i cant disenchant the dragonflight gear I find.

This is odd. I have a couple of characters with 1/100 DF Ench, and haven’t had any trouble.
What error message do you get when you try to D/E? This may appear briefly in red above the middle of the screen when you try to disenchant
When trying to disenchant dragonflight gear it shows at the gear itself 'unable to disenchant" when I click on it to disenchant it shows an error message; That item is not a valid target. I’ve tailoring as second profession and made some gear, this gear is able to disenchant. So trying to get the dusts now with disenchanting tailor made gear. But still not able to disenchant questitems and random dropped gear.
Well, you can vendor the item and buy Chromatic Dust at the AH - you will actually make money that way at this stage in the expansion - but that still doesn’t solve the mystery. amd I’m sorry but I’m out of ideas.
To test it isn’t a patch bug, I just D/Ed a piece on my 1/100 alt, and it went fine.
I’ll disenchant my tailoring made items and if needed buy the dusts from the AH to level up my enchanting. Thanks a lot for replying!
