i have just completed the storylines in the 3 alliance countries and now i have been given the quest “what you may regret” that starts off the main alliance story. but after watching the cinimatic of genn and katherin talking to each other, i cant hand in the quest.
where it should just be genn and katherin, now tandred, jaina and taelia are all standing there, and jaine has an orange ! over her for the next stage of the war campaign.
blizz, are you telling me i have to do the END of the story before i can do the BEGINING?
if this is the case, you have ruined what could have been a great story arc cause of your phasing stupidity.
anyone else stuck here?
oh, and doesn’t this mean i can’t continue to unlock kul’tiran’s unless i do the end of the story before the begining?
A friend is having similar troubles on the Horde side. He couldn’t get to speak to Talanji, she was in the wrong locations and wouldn’t complete the quest. He just kept doing more and more stuff until finally she was available.
It doesn’t seem to cope well with all the overlap of stories going on. I presume it’s similar on the Alliance
a few, but the only ones in bfa are tyrande’s vengeance starter, HoA continuation (meet magni in uldir), quests in dungeons FH, SotS, TD and WM.
i did have the the first part of "the pride of kul tiras “what you may regret” and the next stage of the war campaign “to anglepoint” but i abandoned them to see if anything would fix. it hasn’t
to get the new allied race, one of the requirements is the achievement “a nation united”. which needs loremaster of kul tiras (i’ve done) and the pride of kul tiras (i cant start).
probably means doing the next stage of the war campaign :\ not that i dont generally know how the story goes even though i’ve not done it, but thats so messed up you cant do the story in the order it is meant to be told
On a different scale (not war campaign related) I have a quest in Drustvar I can’t hand in because I’m further along in the storyline and it doesn’t cope, I have read on wow head for that one if I keep going through Drustvar my NPC that I need to hand in will become receptive to my quest again. I just haven’t got far enough. So even though I can see her in game she wants nothing to do with my hand in
You could look up the quest on wowhead to see if anyone has any suggestions in the comments that might help you. But with my friend there was nothing for the Horde side.
as 8.1.5 is only 2 days old, no ones posted yet someone did mention a similar sounding problem, and they just closed the whole game down and relogged back in. but that didn’t work for me.
what quest in drustvar? i just finished drustvar area this morning. i might remember something. dont hold me to it though
Next time I log my ally I’ll come back and fill it in. That one there was lots of advice for on wowhead because others had had the same problem. If you hand in the quest at the time they mean you to then you have no issue. But if the people (the NPCs) have already moved on to the next base for the next set of quests you can’t.
i did the next quest in the war campaign, which brought me to anglepoint wharf, and gave me the quest “stand fast”. i went back and i katherine now had a completion question mark over her head.
so it seems, if this quest wont continue, do one more quest in the war campaign, and then come back to this.
The quest in Drustvar I was talking about is called ‘If Bones Could Talk’. It shows as a hand in in Arom’s Stand but the whole posse has already moved on to Corlain and I can’t hand it in there.
thats probably the worst quest you could have asked me xD i got my alliance to 120 ages ago through islands. but because of the kul tiran allied race requirements, i did the 3 zones story over the last 2 days.
I had picked up the bone that gives you that quest weeks ago, most likely while doing a wq. i was not able to start it cause i had not reached the right stage. so im not sure when you should hand it in.
iirc, i had gone back to finish a couple of quests in the north east before moving onto arom’s stand cause (like the children’s archaeology school trip that gets lost) and decided to do this quest then. i guess therefore i handed this in before i got to arom’s stand, but after you find the cave under the house that is where the order of embers started.
