Can't install classic (season of discovery) on my macbook pro

I’m having trouble installing World of Warcraft Classic (Season of Discovery) on my Macbook Pro 14" 2021.

So far, I’ve got two different error messages:

Whoops! Looks like something broke or crashed. Please try restarting the Battle.net app. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your computer.*

and some kind of “please check your internet connection” (I can’t find the exact error message right now).

Things I tried:

  1. Restarting my computer
  2. Uninstall the game
  3. Check my internet connection
  4. Download via wi-fi
  5. Download via LAN connection
  6. Check the ACL on my computer (Yes, I do have the rights to write or read)
  7. Scan and Repair (Triggers the exact same error message, won’t even repair the game)

Obviously, this has neither something to do with my internet connection nor with my computer.

(Installing World of Warcraft classic on my windows --same network-- does work)

Specs of my macbook pro:

  • 14" screen
  • 2021 version
  • 32GB RAM
  • Apple M1 Max
  • 1TB disk space (and around 800GB left)

using wifi is not suggested while attempting to download these types of apps. You need a landline or a more secure connection. wifi can draw in interference from outside sources causing your downloads to disconnected, interrupted etc. chekc you system for a large RJ45 type cable connection and direct connect to the modem/router/gateway. In some cases a firewire or dvi type connector could also be used to download the software. Just see what type of connections your laptop has.

They clearly tried both.
