I am not a good player, i am at best a decent player and a casual pvper who gets to 2.1-2.2k somewhat consistently every season.
This xpac is the first time for a very long time i am really struggling to reach 2.1k…
it seems that vs normal comps like healer dps i would have around 60-70% win ratio but vs some comps with cheese strats like ret + prot or rogue+mage i would often get destroyed very fast or struggle to win very hard.
my question is, should i be content with the 220 ilvl gear and say to myself “well this is the best i can do this season” and just get out geared by 226 duelists+gladiators, who are already better skilled than me regardless of gear differences?
this is the only season in recent memory where gear is being upgraded with higher rating above 1900-2k last time was maybe wrath where requirements top end was 1930 (and you started at 1500 rating by default)
being out geared and also outplayed does not feel good, i understand rewards for higher rating is good for the game, but it should have stayed being cosmetics rather then further increase the gap between casual players who would never beat the Gladiator players regardless of gear.
p.s, i only do LFG in arena as i have no friends (Sadpeppe)
2.1k at this point is harder than previous expansons for sure. Alot of people boosted to 2.1k who cant hack it even with 226gear, and hover around 1.9-2.1k. Alot of boosters. Alot of super-fotm rerollers/players.
Can it be done? Of course. As a matter of fact, I say its worth the push because if you get it the legit way you will feel super content.
You started at 0 rating in wrath, and that was when they first brought in a separate MMR from the CR. It was like that from the first season of wotlk.
It was in TBC where you started on 1500.
weird thing to pick up from the post, also not entirely true as first season of wrath was starting from 1500 and it was changed in season 6 (2nd season of wrath) not really my post`s point…
cata 2.2k for weapon upgrade and armor was cosmetic upgrade at 2.2k so while not exactly like how it is now, fairly similarly, but imagine if 2.2k right now will just let the weapons upgrade to 226 and thats it, not have to push for 2.4k to upgrade weapons even further and 2.2k for 226 on all ur gear.
220-226 sounds like not alot but with 220 i have 37500 hp and same class/spec as me with 226 is around 39-40k hp, feels bad
If you want reach 2100 buy a boost, It is what Blizzard wants… you are lucky to have 220 iLv gear, some people are stucked to 1600, fighting against 220/226 iLv geared players.
