I had to reinstall wow and now i have to go through the sh!tshow of the authenticator migration.
Trying to remove the authenticator via the website gets stuck at SMS verification, i never receive any SMS. The new battle.net app doesn’t seem to be able to restore the old authenticator using the serial + restore code which i also have.
How do i proceed? The account in question is where the rogue Cursedvision-BurningBlade is in
Also, I don’t understand why it is still attached. According to the Support article it should have been automatically removed
When migration becomes required on January 5, 2024, users who have not yet migrated will have their old Authenticator removed from their account and will receive a password reset to their registered email inbox.
Not sure if this is of any help, it’s possibly what you have already tried.

You can remove your Authenticator temporarily if it’s preventing you from logging in to your account.
i’ve been trying that for the past 2 hours but it gets stuck at SMS verification since i’m not receiving any.
In case anyone sees this today, please do as your own support article describes, remove the authenticator and send me a password reset to the registered email. The account in question is where rogue Cursedvision-BurningBlade is in.
Thank you
They cannot do that, you would need to open a ticket and supply ID to them.
Also why would reinstalling Warcraft need you to remove your authenticator?
Hello Cursedvision,
If it’s the correct number but you’re still not receiving the verification code, you may want to check out the article here for steps you can try:
If that fails you can indeed also contact us for assistance with this. You’ll find the link over on this page:
Finally in regards to the migration and removal of deprecated authenticators, this process has started but is being processed in batches over time, so it may still be a few weeks until it can be completed on all accounts.
