When I bought the token it was to be able to pay gametime at the end of the month.
Now things have changed and I dont need to use the token to pay gametime.
I want to sell back the token on the auction house to get the gold back but the game says “you cannot sell a soulbound item” stopping me from getting my gold back.
This seems like an oversight and a mistake, surely we should be able to sell back a wow-token if we change our minds? Seeing as I need the gold more than the usage for gametime.

Only wow tokens bought on the store can be sold. If you buy one from the auction house it can only be redeemed for game time as that is it’s purpose.
I’ts deliberate, else there would be wow token flipping.

You can try to refund here but it’s not guaranteed I think it depends on how long has passed since you bought it.

He bought the token from the Auction House. Auction House sales cannot be refunded in any circumstance.

Oh I bought it from the in-game store, I assumed I would be able to sell it on the auction house for the price of gold it was worth currently as to get rid of it and get the gold instead.
If they would just allow the tokens to be sold for the amount of gold they are worth the flipping you’re referring to wouldnt be possible, so that would be a sollution to this problem as for people who want to get the gold from the token instead of the gametime.

You can see why I am confused here.
You can buy a token from the In Game Shop for Real Money, this token can then be sold on the auction house.
You can buy a token from the auction house or from the character selection screen with gold. These cannot be re-sold. If you purchased your token with gold, it cannot be sold for gold.
So, my question is… did you buy that token with gold or real money? If it is the latter, you should indeed be able to sell it.

You can buy a token in one of two places, the AH for gold and the Blizzard store.
You can only do two things with a token you bought for gold, use it for gametime or Blizzard balance.
If you buy a token on the AH you cannot resell it, this is to stop people buying them during the low price bottom of the wave and reselling it for a profit at the top of the price wave.
