Hello,
In May-June, before Blizzard officially announced that the servers would be merged, i bought 10 WoW tokens with my gold, that i purposely didn’t use immediately, because i wanted them to stay safe in my bags, so that i would be able to stop playing for a while and come back later.
Now i can’t use the free transfer because it says “please use all your wow tokens before transferring”.
I wouldn’t mind if these tokens were on a lvl 1 bank, but it is a lvl 85 character and i’m greatly disappointed not to be able to transfer him. It is really unfair because when i bought the tokens, i couldn’t know that Blizzard would later shut my server down and force me to transfer to another server, suddenly making my tokens a “burden” instead of an “asset”.
I opened a ticket about this and I was told this is “normal” because WoW Tokens are part of a server’s economy.
But this is completely dumb : the tokens were bought 6 months ago, so they already had impact on the economy 6 months ago. What i do with them 6 months later is totally irrelevant to the server’s economy, since i can only use them to add gaming time to my account.
Had I bought the tokens with a level 1 instead of a level 85, i would have been able to transfer my lvl 85 character, and it would have made ZERO difference with the current situation - except for the fact that i would have been able to play my lvl 85 character on the new mega server.
So basically it’s like Blizzard punished me for buying tokens on a level 85 instead of a level 1. In the end, that’s what it is all about - nothing to do with the game’s economy.
The GM I talked to kind of agreed with me but he told me he couldn’t do anything about it and that my only option would be to post on the forums, so here I am.
Please consider letting us use the free transfer while keeping the tokens that we bought way before the official announcement of the servers merging.
