Can't use UI in combat since patch

Hi,

Seen comments ingame and on reddit about this but can’t find much information.

I have disabled all addons and this still happens, it’s a change in the patch. Bags, mount tab, talents, quest log etc etc… can’t do anything with any of it in combat anymore.

What changed in the patch? on reddit people discussed CloseAllWindows() being combat locked but really not sure.

It’s incredibly frustrating, I haven’t been able to use anything in my bags while fighting because of this. It is not an addon issue - bagnon is broken because of this but it happens regardless of addons.

Have similar issues too, did a full UI reset, without addons, although it is playable for me, I can’t read my gear info, and occasionally the items in my bags vanish.

I have the exact same issue! Really annoying when you are trying to accept someone to your group and you are in combat! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Heya,

It was mentioned that this happens regardless of addons. Could you please check this after going through the steps to clear your UI (addons) fully? Make sure to disable your addon manager (if you use one) before starting up World of Warcraft to test this out, to prevent it from restoring addons/settings.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

I have tested on a fresh install, it still happens.

Reading addon comments like titan, bagnon, and just generally a lot of UI related discussion this seems to be an actual feature almost?

UI is just blocked from being interacted with during combat, after combat everything works as normal.

Edit: I’ve found the issue despite Blizz thinking it’s my files that are the issue… - ShowUIPanel() and HideUIPanel() are now protected, they can no longer be called while in combat.

What are we supposed to do now then? Not be able to open bags in combat ever again? This patch is completely ridiculous.

Is there an actual reason why CloseAllWindows() is combat locked? It provides no combat advantage, but allows you to be able to clear the screen in the event of a mob/pvp attack. If this was intended, I would really like to understand how it was being used inappropriately.
