Everything will still list AP as the reward when you reach 50, but it just won’t do anything.
And yes it is a hard stop. You simply stop accumulating AP (despite what the rewards say).

Could be a thing, I mean why not. OTOH in my 200+ chars guild, they got curve like a month ago, only a couple of them have hit 50. So really not a huge deal for most of us.
Nothing against it, don’t really see a need for it either.
Well a single HC island did drop 26 dubloons out of a single bag for my non-mount saver. So yeah completing an island the only quarenteed reward for a HC one will be 4-26 dubloons.
I was thinking why not for every 2 (or more) AP you get 1 gold instead? A normal cache will always drop 200G and an azerite cache 950 [(1500/2)+(400/2)].
Good idea Destruct. I suggested it in the original post
No. Just no. There are reasons why they removed most prominent gold sources implemented in 2 latest expansions. We’re still dealing with huge amounts of welfare gold stuck in the economy, we don’t need more.
Yes that’s why the vast majority is now boycotting those mounts or barely able to scrap by if they aren’t an AH goblin (which also reduces the gold present in the economy, 5% AH cut). Why cater to the 1-5% rich and screw over the 99-95%?
Even AH goblins are admitting it:
As we discussed last week, player spending has shifted from luxury goods and option treats like mounts, pets, transmog and toys, to essentials and functional commodities like consumables, materials and general ‘playing costs’ including repairs and travel. Unless you’re actively playing the gold-making game, sometimes even spending more time on it than other end-game activities (like myself), the ‘average’ player is never going to be able to afford these mounts. All-in-all the costs of the gold sinks introduced in Battle for Azeroth such as mounts, pets and toys are nearing 10 million gold, which is a clear indication that the developers want gold removed from the economy.
So what? It’s the result of welfare gold introduced in the past. This is how it works - when there’s huge inflation (in case of WoW due to welfare gold) there are casualties. This is going to last for quite a long time and there’s no easy way around it. Introducing similar crap once again is just going to postpone the inevitable. Once there’s more gold available to everyone prices of everything will go up accordingly. The only thing that would change is time needed to earn enough gold in order to buy the static price mounts/pets from vendors.
In essence you want to make consumables and all things considered constant daily expenses to go up for the sake of getting your stupid 438th mount that you’re never going to use anyway.
News flash btw: those expensive mounts introduced in BfA were made just to reduce the amount of gold possesed by gold making whales, not for an average joe that you are, at least not for a long time.
I think 900 is the threshold these days.
I think even Blizzard would agree with you now.
This isn’t the way, you don’t see that? The majority can’t even spend on luxery anymore and the rest of us aren’t going spend 90k on a recoulered gryphon from 5.1 unless gold icnome outside of being an AH goblin goes up. That quote is clear, the only way to make money now is to become an AH goblin who spends often more than half the play time starring at the AH. 99% of the people have better things to do, just increase the gold from WQ and from vendor greys. Are reskin reputation mounts now also novelty mounts like the AH mount?
What is Bliz gonna do? Delete our gold? And I said divided by 2 or more, so it can be easily be 1500 azerite > 500G, that isn’t much. That’s 2 pots at most or less than 1 flask. Again why are we punishing the majority who didn’t abuse WoD and Legion tables? I’m like the last one with money left with my friends, they either never got alot or spend most of it or all on the AH mount (waste of gold). And that’s just because I’m conservative, I did buy the new flaming sword (bad with names) for eventually 74k. Even at 100k I couldn’t bring up the guts to spend it on a mog, I saw my chance before the price would rebounce to 220k+ again and took it since I planned this purchase in Legion.
I read too many posts like: “I will be stopping using pots for raids, they became to expensive as a non-alchemist/herbalist”
Yes and it’s the stupidest solution ever, in the same way that making semi-impossible boss fight that will be nerfed in a month, loot restriction and mega grind are the stupidest solution to having a tiny tiny portion of the playerbase way better than the rest.
You spend time designing stuff aimed to a very small % of the playerbase, and screw everyone else in the process.
Convert it to honor for LOLs.
Or you know, be happy that you reached 50 and chill until the next patch hits…or play alts, increase your rio, farm gold, anything other than crying.
All I hope is that the 8.2 Heart of Azeroth also has a cap and not the infinite paragon level.
No one here is crying, except you about this thread.
https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/bia6ec/level_50_neck_and_ap_for_treasure_map_come_on/ forgot this could happen! So you run 4 islands (if HC) and then even the map can say screw you.
The only reason I can see for not doing this is gold inflation. I like that there’s a hard cap now, but it does leave the issue of certain content seeming unrewarding.
I think a gold or rep token reward would be reasonable, or maybe a cache system for earning a certain amount of AP above cap.
The least they could do is let you transfer AP you gain after the cap to an alt who needs it in my view.
i avoid world quests that reward azerite, i dont specificly grind islands( havent even done them for about a month), but the 3 120 chars i have all are 48-49 azerite level and probably will be 50 soon. seeing how everything awards azerite it would be nice to have something in return.
Honestly it doesn’t even have to be gold, war resources would be fine as well. then have the 7thlegion/honorbound vendor sell some azerite you can sent to alts for war resources. I think plenty of people would appreciate some kind of sink for war resources like this
This honestly needs to be a thing.
Why isn’t this a thing?
