My Heart of Azeroth is now level 50 and many of the in game rewards no longer give anything for me. Why not convert artifact power into gold for capped players? Maybe 50 silver per point of artifact power? Doesn’t sound like a bad idea to me.
A few of us have made this point. In Legion we got physical tokens to apply to our weapon (of choice) so those just became worth gold instead. However this time we just do things that still generate AP but just get nothing for it.
Yes that was even in better in Legion, you got given an item and could sell it if you wished.
It really is a big issue I think. Blizzard have made it quite easy to reach max level with your artifact, but now so many of the rewards give nothing to me. You can’t even fill up your level 50 bar to get a head start with 51.
Patch 8.2 feels like a long way away to leave the game in this state. Gold would be a nice reward and an incentive to keep playing.
At the moment your necklace is just raised to ilevel 433. You can check my profile if you want to see stats. It isn’t that difficult with the latest week since the AP required has been scaled down so much.
Eh it’s easy to get 50 now if you keep on WQ caches. I didn’t do islands for over 3 months, skipped 2 or more Darkshore warfronts, all of the Arathi warfronts and didn’t do M+ I would have had 50 if I did easily. I did conquest cap though and delivered only 4 AoO quest (was saving it till i was 50 away from cap at tuesday and not willing to play at all) so I made 18k total there. Now I’m 42k (from the head) away. Almost every other char has 44 or 45 and are pushing into the next level (very close in percentage), only the true prof alts are at 40/41/42.
For HC (400 azerite) you need 44 and mythic (415 azerite) 48.
Also the paragon rewards give you 5k gold, war resource and 2.5k AP, which adds up fast for all these different sources. Plus stuff from raids and dungeons and rares etc.
Unfortunately though because so many activities reward AP, it now feels the exact opposite, completely unrewarding when you are capped.
The only char I did azerite caches with was the main hence why it’s ahead 4 levels of the rest. That was the only char that cleared all WQ caches, it’s also sits at almost 24k after giving away 3k resources (costing that char 3.9k). It will build even faster now I can stop doing doing azerite mission board missions.
But yep but happy nontheless, can turn of azerite WQ (like I do with gold ones, ha 100G! I rather run an old raid!). But yep it kinda sucks in that aspects now 3 types of rewards are useless for the char: Weapon, equipment and azerite. I can scrap the azerite armor (115 dust per piece at 400 IL, saving up for 8.2), resources are always handy to stack for the future and 2k gold = 500G per WQ.
More and more people will be reaching the cap all the time. Due to the reduction of AP needed to level now, level 50 is not that hard to reach. Also, it is a poor design mechanic in principle.
Add to that, treasure maps can still ‘reward’ you with AP mission, Bonus rolls ‘reward’ you on failure with AP. Darkshore contributions are up for EUI-Horde and guess what they reward…AP
It is. And it’s a proof of how badly the system has been designed.
We’re 2-3 months away from the next xpac and we’re capped, but for the first 3 months of the new xpac, you had to grind all day to level up the neck to be able to use the traits of the items you already dropped. I’ve had 415 shoulder for months now and i’ve unlocked the last trait 2 weeks ago.
Nonsense.
