Capture the Flag is just not made for today's class design

There are classes which can cross the entire map in the blink of an eye.

All the while you have a bunch of people micro-ccing you, slowing you etc.

It just does not make for enjoyable gameplay. I think CTF should be removed from the RBG pool and more new BGs that accomodate the modern class design should be added instead.

Just disable all movement abilitys from the fc… same way bubble drops flag etc, rely on team helping, it used to work as no class had so much movement utility. Problem solved. Easiest fix there is tbh.

I agree, it’s an issue, especially in Blitz. It sucks when the enemy side has a resto monk, priests and evokers who can all pull the flag carrier in quick succession. To make things more fair and less RNG, flag carriers shouldn’t be able to use their movement abilities (including monk teleport) and not be pulled.

It’s ridiculous.

There’s already certain abilities that are disabled for use by flag carriers so the precedent is already set - but we now have a situation where abilities that are far harder to counter are now permitted which strips away much of the fun and challenge.

My Warlock isn’t allowed to use a Demonic Gateway whilst carrying a flag and even if I place it in advance, I cannot catch up to certain classes that zoom across half the map.

At least fighting over a cart is fairer.

How about carrying the flag gives you permanent freedom and immunity to grips / slows / snares and roots, but , you are not allowed to use any movement abilities or teleports?

Basically when you pick the flag you would have to walk slowly with 100% speed.

Let’s be real: nobody could score If you restrict movement but keep abilities that disrupt the fc in.

When everyone just had to walk, no class would have an advantage fcing.

if you play a goblin race and have slow fall , you can fly to your base with rocket jump

Everyone knows it’s a problem and everyone knows how to fix it. It’s just that Blizz don’t want to.

Putting any sort of restriction on fc movement is dumb. No one will be able to cross ever maybe vs bots or 1100 players but that’s it.

By doing this every match will be a stalemate, you cant balance spec fc viability either without it also having huge consequences for arena. Without them making seperate tuning for blitz/arena meaning specs having different mobility in each mode.

You have already ruined the queues by whining, making them 15 min vs insta - 3 min queues.

Stop suggesting useless changes that’ll just ruin gameplay or have future ramifications you don’t grasp in the first place.

Who says it’s a problem? I would find this desirable.

Specs like MW would no longer offer a systemic advantage for having them in the team, classes like DK would no longer offer an advantage in intercepting FCs.

Actual tanks would be the best FCs again because they have the strongest defensive abilities.

FC gameplay would be similar for all classes, you keep moving and press your defensive abilities to stay alive while your team peels for you.

I repeat myself as always but I rather have the Flag itself behave like a vehicle:
-A new bar with spells opens up:
Dash button of 2 charges(20 sec cd),
70% speed + movement immunity buff button(1min cd),
A cone- knockback button that also applies a 70% slow(30 sec cd),
100% Dodge button (1min cd),
2 sec spell immunity button(50 sec cd)
-Flag has same versatility, armor and same health no matter who picks it. Buffs like Stamina, Intellect, Mark do not have any effect. So do spells who buff your movement speed or pull you. (dk grip can work though)
-Flag doesnt care if youre in cat form- flag moves only with 15% speed when its not buffed by its own speed buff.
-Flag Carry can use only the 1 known since clasic on click pvp trinket and they can use their racials.
-Flag takes normal damage, but when around other players takes 25% less damage, every 2 seconds someone spends 25 yards closer to the tank they start to suffer Dampening and take increased damage too. This effect starts ticking ONLY inside of the bases but remains until the player dies.

This will make flag carrying more strategic, dynamic and it will remove the annoying oneshoting of flag carries once they reach certain stacks but will give them more chances to have a reaction.

How would you ever catch up to a dk that puts chains on you from a range if you can’t slow him?

flag carrying is fine as is we dont need mechanics that act like an epic bg vehicle where scaling is different every season.

It’s a team effort. You shouldn’t be the only one in your team chasing the EFC, and likewise, he shouldn’t be the only one CCing / slowing you. His teammates should peel him.

The goal of these proposed changes is to give every class a shot at carrying the flag, make it possible for the FC to keep moving, and give opponents a chance to catch him. Right now some classes shine as FC or EFC killer while others have way less of an impact. This should even the playing field.

CTF shouldn’t be deleted. What should happen is during flag holding. All classes have a debuff limiting movement speed to max 100%. And stopping teleporting… maybe…. Or limit it?

I know. Unpopular. And Odd. But this would incentivise tanks playing FC again. Stop the 3-4 classes that can cheese map mechanics.

Monk, mage, lock porting out of LoS with flag wins maps.

This is for rated more tbh…. I’d like to hear other folks opinions. A stacking damage debuff isn’t enough. Speed and mobility seem to be bigger issues now.

If you have a monk in your team, your chances of winning that map is high. They need to sort this crap out. No class should give that major advantage.
