Castle Nathria is overtuned as heck

Hello everyone, I am Rabies the Magnificent, again without boobs.

Castle Nathria is overtuned as Heck. We are progressing on normal. Not facerolling normal, Progressing. I have not progressed normal since WoD. The only reason we may or may not clear normal on day 1 is for the simple reason, it was too big. But now. Actual tactics. Stuff that hurts, its AMAZING. I am absolutely loving it. We are having a BLAST progressing NORMAL! NORMAL!. We have one heroic kill, and we will get some heroic bossess down on monday aswell. But damn Blizzard.

The bossess are fun, they feel unique. The astetics are amazing. Absolutely Magnificent.
We do need a small balance patch for the raid. Just slightly, verry small balance changes. For example: You have to stand in an orb to soak it, but if you are 1 mm to the side you cant soak it. Make that more sensitive.

Honestly, normal feels like heroic.

Normal shouldn’t be so demanding and full of personal responsiblity/instawipe mechanics like this, that belongs in heroic.

I also feel like Castle Normal is just heavily overtuned and its more of a heroic level. The damage done is insane and the healing requirements are massive (they shouldnt be , normal is technically entry level)

Yeah I couldn’t care less about raiding but they nerfed m+ item’s ilvl and drop chance so i have to participate in that chore even though i never had to do these things in legion or bfa and no one had problem with that other than the loud raiding elitist minority.
So yeah i do care how much time i have to waste there and stop this “durr it was like this and that in wotlk” etc. Noone cares what it was back then, if you do then go play on classic or find a private server for yourself.

Wotlk raiding was a joke tier7 was cleared with people in SwP gear from TbC .
Wotlk was the start of massive loot pintas the paladin hasnt got a clue.

We had
Emblem
Crafted
Arena
World boes
VoA
Normal PvP gear

Sarth Malygos Sarth and VoA all puggable same with most of Naxx.

iLvL matters now, so it is good for it to be challenging.

Thats not true really atleast on wotlk you coud get into a pug group in a heartbeat it was the expansion where i raided the most because 1. It was really easy to get in pugs and 2. Raids to me were mure fun because they were more slow paced without stupid amount of responsibilities and oneshot mechanics.

You are undergeared and gearing is now very slowly. Now you will close content more slowly and pay sub more. :+1:t2:

Sludgefist was overtuned compared to the rest of the raid and its position within it. Everything else felt harder than normal usually does but not to a degree that I’d expect sweeping nerfs across all bosses.

TBC and WOTLK were not hard, and we’re talking about the “normal mode” here. The fact that 12/12 Mythic clearing guilds finished day 1 on 7/10N shows Castle is overtuned for its intended audience, that audience being casuals.

The fact that you think old expansion raiding was harder is quite amusing, you’re going to have some surprises in store when every TBC Classic raid is cleared the day it’s released.

I think that shows Sludgefist is overtuned, not necessarily anything before or after it.

Sludgefist is also just unfair. The pools have no clearly defined edges and their spawns are far too sporadic / unpredictable for a room with such little total space over the encounter. Not to mention there being a genuine healing requirement.

Did not Asmongold wipe for hours before even reaching that boss? A multi gladiator and multi raid clearing experienced player who can click is fingers and find a geared raid? Normal is usually roflstomped, the last time I played an expansion start was Legion, we roflstomped both normal and heroic within the first 2 days, first real stepping stone was maybe mythic dragons or illgynoth…

Same kinda guilds are sitting 1/10 heroic and 10/10 normal after 2 days of raiding, guilds with 90-99% players and years of experience… Imagine the average normal raider, they don’t stand a chance in hell, nevermind Sludgefist.

Edit : Fwiw, not saying it should be nerfed but it’s definitely overtuned, class balance is also definitely horrible and back to my previous point TBC/WOTLK was definitely not harder, save for the few hardmode exceptions and HC (aka mythic) mode from T9 on.

Yeah I’ve no qualms with anything you’ve said regarding TBC or Wrath.

Eh, gear will make a huge difference. Crack through some mythic + and suddenly the gear will make it feel a lot easier.

But I agree, it feels far harder than usual. I don’t think thats a bad thing though.

they should keep this tuning - thus making less people raid and eventually removing raiding from game once only 5 percent raids like in past

therefore i fully support keeping current tuning of raiding and gearing up model :slight_smile:

while - just like half of my friendlist playing Cyberpunk atm and having a blast while majority of people have a living hell in normal mode

People are saying how fun it is now but i’m already 'foreseeing many, many Mythic and Heroic raiding guilds dying because of this raid the deeper we get into Heroic and Mythic progression.

Hard raids are not good for the game

nobody gonna spend months gearing up in 2020.
