Cata Raid BoE's should be personal loot

I mean if you join it you’re an idiot.

These groups works because people join them.
We can all make these group die in 1 easy step, ignoring.
But people decide not to and agree to the terms.

It’s 100% a player decision issue, nothing else.

There are legit next to none of the boes that are bis, so that argument is completely invalid. Outside of the warrior trinket that is situationally bis on some fights, there arent really any other ones that are.

There are however significant upgrades over pre-raid stuff. Staff dropped in BoT is a pretty desirable for Casters should they have failed to get the Arch Drops since unless you’re already having Epic 1H and Offhand you’re not exactly doing great.

Thats irrelevant tho, you said bis, there isnt really any full bis items from trash, so a raid leader reserving it isnt really a problem for anyone in there. At any point they can go and buy that boe too.

I don’t think the amount of blacklist posts in the discord channels would stop them either.

If they joined GDKPs, at least they’d get a cut. But hey, some people serve to make gold for the host only.

Nah, I’ve whispered one of the people forming these raids and their reason was literally “everyone else is doing it so I am too”. Let’s not mess around, this practice is just people seeing an opportunity to make a ton of gold and taking it. If blizzard are fine with keeping that unequitable environment then what can I do? complain on the forums? (oh wait)

Like many people are pointing out, if you don’t like it then make your own raids and see how it feels.

  • It can take up to 3h sometimes to create a 25 man raid but around 90 min ish is quite normal.
  • Consider that many people who join leave shortly after because “raid isnt full” and they are impatient and want raid “now now now”
  • You as a raid leader need to check everyone up, to make sure the raid is good enough to kill the bosses.
  • Tactics and everything is on you

I strongly recommend that you try to create your own raid and I guarantee that you will understand all of this and that you will agree that raid leaders who HR BoEs or doing token Gbid is fairly doing so.

I have also given loads of people invites to my raids who didnt have any achievement who never gets invited to other raids where they will ask for achievement.

We make gold from this yes but I can tell you right now, if it wasn’t for me getting something extra, I would never make the raids I do and then many people would be stuck with raids with less experienced raid leads.

Also another thing when it comes to gbid or GDKP. I have done both and I prefer GDKP in the sense that it gives something back to the whole raid however it has proven to be much easier to form a group to make a gbid raid than GDKP and thats also the reason why you see a lot of gbid groups.

goat food and rent are expensive :frowning:

What I find fascinating is how much hate GDKPs get, but not GBID. Both involve RMT, but the former being a superior loot system in comparison.

Why the hell would you make a 25man from scratch as a pug ?? Is it that much easier than 10man to clear ?

More items, more money

What? BoEs doesn’t drop more often in 25man.

Or you talking GDKP?

I completely understand your frustration with the current state of PUG (Pick-Up Group) raids in LFG (Looking For Group). The practice of BoE (Bind on Equip) items being hard reserved by the raid leader does seem to create an imbalance, especially when considering the potential gold value of these items.

While it’s true that organizing a raid requires effort and some level of leadership, the compensation through BoE items can indeed be excessive, as you’ve pointed out. The range from 3k to 35k gold per BoE is significant, and with WoW tokens priced at 12.5k gold, the leader stands to gain a substantial amount for their role, far beyond what seems fair for merely organizing a raid.

One way to address this issue might be to advocate for a more equitable distribution of BoE items or for a different system of compensation that benefits all participants in the raid. For example, implementing a rolling system for BoE drops or dividing the gold from sold BoEs among all raid members could be fairer alternatives.

Another suggestion could be to form your own PUGs with rules that promote fairness and transparency, or to join communities or guilds that share your values regarding loot distribution. Encouraging open discussions about loot rules before the raid begins can also help set clear expectations and reduce potential conflicts.

Your perspective is valuable, and raising awareness about these issues can lead to better practices and more enjoyable experiences for everyone involved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
