Cataclysm endgame content should be lvl 10-50

SUGGESTION:

Expand he level bracket for the following zones from lvl 30-50, to lvl 10-50 in Cataclysm Chromie time:

  • Deepholme
  • Vashj’ir
  • Uldum
  • Twilight Highlands
  • Mount Hyjal

That’s it. That’s all that would need to happen in order to provide a player with the ability to level through the end-game content without having to do early game Cataclysm content for the first 20 levels.

Right now, a player can only level through Cataclysm end-game zones (Uldum, Deepholme, Washj’ir etc) after reaching level 30. This means there’s only 20 levels remaining for the Cataclysm end game zones. This needlessly reduces the amount of choice in the ways players can level their alts.

Whether a player picks Chromie time or not doesn’t actually matter as the level brackets for Cataclysm time and ‘normal time’ are identical.

The Cataclysm end-game content combined is large enough to fit 40 levels. Easily. The only benefit that Chromie time offers is that Chromie strips away all the starting quests for the other expansions that could sidetrack a player. Which is solving a problem that veteran players don’t have in the first place.

‘Normal time’ could still leave the Cataclysm end-game at 30-50 as not to overwhelm new players (even though I doubt they wouldn’t enjoy these zones at lvl 10 either), but Cataclysm brackets should change.

I think they totally mislead us about the new levelling process. They claimed we could level a character through a whole expansion but the reality is we do about 2 zones and then chromie rips you away from your fun.

Probably an unpopular opinion but we simply level way too fast now.

Oh I agree, that’s a different issue altogether but I wholeheartedly agree on that. It only took two and a half Pandaria zones to get to 50.

But Cataclysm stands out in that you don’t even get to do that. You have to level to 30 through, what is technically Cataclysm content in low level zones in order to finally be able to see the end-game of Cataclysm which, due to the very fast levelling, would be more than enough to level from 10 to 50 alone.

;p take a break then

I’m pretty sure they did that because those new zones that came with cata were designed with flying unlocked from the get go.
Doing Deepholme without flying is (I think) impossible to progress past the first few quests.
Uldum, Hyjal and Twilight Highlands you can do quite a bit without flying.
Vashj’ir could actually be there from lvl 10 right away.

I completely agree. I ended up locking the XP of my warrior because I reached level 40 less than halfway through Mists of Pandaria, and Mists is much shorter than Cataclysm.

And don’t even dare to dream about going to proper end-game zones like Argus.

That’s a fair point and an understandable reason. Still, these would be problems that the players themselves would chose to encounter. It doesn’t need to be a decision the game makes for them. Chromie could simply make a remark that flying would make this timeline more convenient and that’s all. Maybe even a warning dialogue window.

Players who aren’t familiar with the situation should then just pick the normal timeline and get the experience the Cataclysm timeline is providing them now.
