So i’ve seen a few items in the AH, that i could buy (shoulders).
They are ilvl 470.
If i were to buy it, could i use it at the catalyst to change it into a seson 3 tier piece?
The item does not say if its veteran, champion or hero…it just says ilvl 470.
And since it super expensive, i don’t want to buy it if i can’t actually transform it into a tier piece.
No, crafted gear won’t work on it.
Items on the AH aren’t crafted, they’re drops from raid trash and they can be catalysed.
If it’s lacking the upgrade thing I’d imagine not.
If it doesn’t have the upgrade track likely no
BOES from raid can be upgraded and cata after equipping i have the LFR shoulders on my mage and they turned to 2/8 Vet
The BoEs from the raid can be thrown in the catalyst… i did it with shoulders on my hunter Malikypewpew

Yeah will change to tier piece
Really depends on the source of the item. Current raid BoE will work but timewarped stuff can’t be catalyzed (I’ve seen some Firelands BoEs as well as a heroic track item I got from the raid quest last season). Can’t think of other sources of BoEs on such ilvl. Crafted epics are BoP and require work orders to have someone else craft it for you.
