I would like to return to the next phase because of the new raid. However, I stopped playing after reaching level 60. Is there/will be an easy way to get gear so that I can enjoy the game in the new phase? I think a lot of people may be in a similar situation because SOD was abandoned by Blizzard for a while and people got a little discouraged from playing.

Getting into a pug for Molten Core heat1 shouldn’t be an issue, it’s absolutely faceroll.
There’s some new craftable items from AQ, they’re pricey but some are bis. Old content raids now give reals, the real vendor has a few small pieces of gear.
ZG is a catch-up raid and is super easy; it’s also 10man and the gear is good. Same with AQ20 (now AQ10.)
Just because it’s easy doesn’t mean people will take you.
I’ve been playing WoW for a long time but SOD is the most toxic community in terms of pugging, they demand who knows what and I’m a rogue so it doesn’t give any buff which makes it even more unlikely that anyone will take me.
Rogues do give buffs though, some pretty strong ones. There’s the expose armour buff (which beats sunder armor when talented) and the new occult poison, which is great for casters. here:
I imagine you can get it from the rune broker and you can buy the 2nd rank of it from the auction house.
Some rogues cry about using it because ‘personal DPS loss’ etc etc.
As for MC pugs; I don’t know what other realms are like but Wild Growth (Alliance) has way more MC pugs than there are people wanting to run MC; they all run with bindings HR because some people are still desperate for Thunderfury. They’re in no position to be turning fresh dingies down.
All the gear in AQ10 and ZG are either disenchanted or vendored.
You can get in a PUG if you have more than greens.
Ofc no game ever will boost you, but SoD is WAY less toxic then any version of the game for sure.
Get som dissent blues and you get ind a pug easy, just don’t whait as a rogue to try joining a raid with only a few spots left. The melee spots get taken befor Healers and som times tanks.
