Why does the Gilneas banner have the Stormwind Lion on it?
Last I checked, the Stormwind Lion wasn’t Gilneas’ crest.
We have two crests they could have used, the crest of Gilneas, or the crest of the Worgen, they used neither and this feels quite disappointing.
There is no point in asking Blizzard to fix it as they won’t, but at least don’t further ruin our pride like this.
We haven’t been consumed by Stormwind, not yet.

It bothers me so much, for every other race they used unique banners and for Gilneas they just copied Stormwind and made it darker. It should have proper Gilneas crest.
I know, either the old Gilneas sickle or the new claws, either would have worked, but this is just insulting.
Implying we’re just an assimulated nation now, with nothing but lamps left to our culture.

It’s similar to the Nelves, they got the old Highborne/Ancient Kaldorei banners instead of the Darnassus banner

It has to be some kind of lore thing? Maybe it’s the banner they had before they left the Alliance?
Or a subtle hint from blizzard that we’ve been relegated from a faction into Stormwind’s dogs.

That has been Gilneas’ banner since they were founded as a Kingdom.
It was changed in Cata to the Worgen crest, but they’re both still far and away what we got for this.
Weird, ya sure that’s not just the Alliance banner you’re looking at? I refuse to believe they did ya’ll like this.
The Alliance banner was the first and opposite the Horde banner.
The Alliance banner also wouldn’t have Gilnean torches on either side of it’s axis.
Those torches are purely a Gilnean aesthetic.
One more reason to reclaim Gilneas: You need your banners back!
I was trying to work out where I saw those banners before, I remembered. The Greyfang Enclave in Legion Dalaran.
You know, that place which is an Alliance area, and not specifically a Worgen area.

Even going back to the starting zone, we don’t have any banners in Gilneas.
Would it have really been that hard to take one of the many Gilneas flags and stretch it into a banner? instead of quickly copy and pasting the banner from Legion?

Yet the Nelves have gone back to using their ancient Kal’dorei flag, similar to those seen in Suramar.
The Lightforged even have a banner, last I checked, they don’t have lands either.

sure they do they hail from the floating nation of the vindicaar 
What about the Forsaken then? Their sewer… I mean city… Is in ruins. Even more so than before I mean.

Blizzard never bothered to make a Gilnean banner so this is the best old asset they could reuse. That’s literally all there is to it.
