CC is what's stopping me from progressing in M+

Rebuke has too short of a distance, and not fast enough. I click so fast on the damage rotation that both Rebuke and Hammer of Justice don’t activate when I need them too. I like doing damage, but the CC is halting the fun for me.

Many won’t share my opinion, but that is where I stand when it comes to Retribution and this game.

It’s one of the issues with the latest iteration of Blizzard hating melee. They focus so much on making interrupts are core mechanic of M+ but then make it unfairly difficult for melee to properly deal with this in big pulls.

I don’t fully understand your problem. Rebuke is off-GCD. You’re melee, you don’t cast anything. So you can Rebuke literally any moment without any affect to your DPS.

Then it is a range problem. Because I am standing next to the mobs.
I should try binding to the keyboard as well on one button, and see if that makes a difference. My Rebuke is currently bound to mouse3 button.

Would work quite good I think, if you use a mouseover macro or have that configured per default in the config. This combined with good nameplates, so you can just hover over a nameplate, see a cast, and by just hovering over it press mouse-button 3 to interrupt the cast.

Please, many interrupts is inherently pro-melees (and Shamans) due to the short cooldowns. Don’t talk crap or connect the unconnected.

Utilty like interrupts and CC has always been unbalanced, hunters being the most egregious example.

Bad tanks and low dps for me.

So I tried to bind to keyboard, but I still stop rotating my dps, because the distance is so short. I have to run inside the pack to stop the cast, and I am looking at the cast to see if it gets stopped, and when it does I go back outside the pack so I can see myself and if I am standing on a safe spot.

Are you using a focus target or some shorthand way to interrupt without losing your current target, that way all you have to do is step for a moment and hit the button during one of your gcds incurred by another spell instead of finding the correct target.

I know this is rich coming from someone playing a class that probably has one of the best interrupts in the game, but you have plenty of other buttons that bring extremely valuable utility to a group, quite a few of which can, if not replace an interrupt, at least delay a spellcast to buy you time to get within Rebuke range.

  • Hammer of Justice can stun a target.
  • Blindling Light can disorient on AoE.
  • Repentance is a hard one minute CC that works on quite a lot of mobs.
  • Turn Evil is more narrow, but still relevant in quite a few dungeon situations, and can be turned into an AoE fear.

These abilities have a 10, 10, 30 and 20 yard range respectively. They’re not a perfect replacement for a ranged interrupt, but they all have their uses. But it’s important to know where they apply, which mobs are susceptible, and so on. And a lot of these abilities are on the global cooldown, but that’s something every class has to deal with. I can keep blindly hammering my damage buttons, or I can press Thunderstorm to knock up an enemy that was about to drop a frontal cone on the party. Only one of those choices is productive.

I know the abilities to the specs of the class.
Rebuke is still dog[flowers].
