ACTIVISION blizzard, I’m pretty sure it’s Activision dirtying the name that is blizzard.
I never minded the sub cost in WoW. Always thought it’s reasonable, for the amount of entertainment it can provide, and I always saw it as a more fair way to conduct business compared to the alternative, which is f2p with a ridiculous store that eventually sells in-game power and the associated game design that has to inevitably cater to the store no matter how many good intentions inform the designers decisions. But I never did nor ever will spend a single dollar on store mounts or pets or other cosmetics they might sell in the store. That, for me, does not belong in a game that has a subscription as well. It’s not a matter of how much it costs, I spend north of 200$ monthly on games and could easily spend in the WoW store instead of something else, but a matter of principle.

And here iam wondering why people never cried about tcg mounts. Other generation I guess.
Also if the shop mounts have to much detail = flame
If they are bland = flame
People paying 1000€ for spektral Tiger with no way to get it ingame ? That’s fine
Wow should be rewarding US, the players, for keeping them going this long.
This mount shouldnt be on the store.
Same old greedy Blizzard
To be honest, I’m gonna give a civil answer.
I’m disappointed in seeing store mounts for a game that charges you 60$ every 2 years for the latest content, and 12.99$ every month in order to keep playing the game.
It’s a cosmetic feature that could have been tied to some questline, achievement, pvp/pve instance etc, for you to earn. But has a 25$ tag on it instead so Activison-Blizzard can get a quick buck for the Q3 earnings.
2 content patches in, and we already have 5 unique store mounts, 2 pets*, and 2 toys. Which is a drastic increase from the recent expansions. And by buying these store items, activison-blizzard is encouraged to keep producing these.
Well, back them must of the players were ignorant about the existence of TGC mounts. Only a small minority of players did it and there were very few who pay for those cards like the spectral tiger. Anyway back them it was not 1000€, that is the price now, but keep in mind TGC has been out of print for years, so the number of cards available is every year less and less, so the prices increase.
It is just like same with the price of old Collector Editions. During WOTLK I bought the collector for BC in eBay for about 100€. Today is worth that prize WITHOUT the pet. With the pet, it goes up to 500€.
5 mounts, 2 pets and 2 toys (technically 3). They broke both records, most mounts (MoP was 4) with 5 and in the shortest time span. Less than a year this expansion is out or if we take 1st mount in just barely 10.5 a 11 months they released 5.
By this pace, I expect actiblizzard to have pumped out an additional 5-7 new store mounts/toys/pets by the time BFA is over.
No game that you have to pay a sub fee for should have additional items gated behind a paywall. It’d be a different story if WoW was F2P.
Personally really wonder where a working adult has gone wrong in life worrying about 180€ a year to play a videogame that’s based on being a timesink.
Especially if you consider other hobbys like going out. Pretty sure going out is gonna cost you a lot more then 180€/year
Because something bad tends to sour what was otherwise good.
Like finding a worm in your food. No matter how good the food was, the whole experience took a giant hit the second you laid eyes on that worm.
Or dota/league/fortnite that cost you nothing. Bad comparison.
It’s not about the money, it’s a principle case. What’s the point of a sub if it’s not all inclusive, just go F2P and use the F2P model that everyone else uses.
Cause nobody in those games use skins
I’m sure some people go out with their friends and drink water and eat the complimentary free peanuts too.
My heart , where I go out I have to PAY to get peanuts
That just means your drinks aren’t expensive enough.
15y anniversary what a disgrace, question is why do we still support this behavior from them?!
That is your argument ? Aslong as not everyone knows it exists it’s fine ?
That true. But even than it was a bit more than 20€.
I remember someone wanted 3 first edition judgment dragons for 1 magic chicken mount .
But doesn’t change that .
-
extrem good and unique looking mounts not avaible by playing
-
you can only buy them for money .
Don’t you think it quit pathetic ? We get a awesome free mount , old Alterac + new raid. But having collections edition mounts put into the shop ruins it for you?
You would prefer having them only in the collections edition ?
So you don’t like the free BG , free pet , free mount , free raids , free items ?
What do you want ? How ungreatful can you even be
And how many are you gonna buy?
