I agree. But reality is that WoW has both an up-front cost, a subscription, and an online store.
Personally, if I were to funnel some kindergarten-QQ toward any of those, then it would be the subscription. Not the up-front cost and not the online store. The continual monthly subscription to WoW costs way more money in the long run than the other two – combined – ever will.
Does it make it any less valid?

Does it make it any less valid?
Kinda yes. Since I , and I assume many other disagree with that statement.
Which is kinda hypocritical because I don’t own any store mounts

Yea I voted with my wallet by using ingame gold to fund my gametime.
From Blizzard’s perspective it’s all the same. You just created incentive for someone else to spend 20 bucks on the online store buying a WoW Token, by increasing the gold price on it.
It’s common logic? How can you as a fellow consumer defend that they put some of the best looking mounts in WoW behind a paywall while they could be earnable in-game through various means? That’s shilling on the highest level.

I don’t defend it. I just deal with it in a grown-up way: I buy it if I really want it. And if I don’t want it, then I don’t buy it. That’s the choice presented to me. I’m familiar with that from how the rest of the entire world functions.
The “could be” is nice, but also very blue-eyed.
yeah you’re talking about past and about achievement mounts which required a tiny bit of effort. You’ve just proven my point. Most of new mounts are worthless because everyone can get em just by camping while alt tabbed

some of the best looking mounts in WoW behind a paywall
Well they are not really the best looking in my opinion.
I prefer stuff like the emerald dragon / experiment 12-B or how it is called.
But if you think they are good looking and the free ones are not , that’s just bad luck.
Let me just iterate that I don’t really care. I don’t buy store mounts. I just heavily disagree with the practice in a paid sub game.
It’s pretty obvious that no matter the bad press from the community that they aren’t going to stop releasing them, even if big Youtubers publicly state they aren’t in favour either like Bellular, T&E and Nixxiom.

Most of new mounts
Jaina Mount / glad proto dragons / the few Million gold mount / the rare drops from the dungeons / The new archievment mounts / new profession mounts ?
Show me any expansions which did it better.
Blech cant wait to see these special snowflake players on their new $ mount flyng all over
you cant be serious by giving gold sink mounts as examples glad mounts were always unique, same goes for tier mounts. Very bad argument

Very bad argument
Show me a example when they did better
: also I forgot , the new pvp mounts for playing above 1,4

Of course. It’s good business. It doesn’t require much work to create these mounts and pets, so the profit margin is likely huge.
They get a little bit of bad reputation from it, but they seemingly have reputation to spare.
From a business perspective, it’s absolutely the right thing to do.
Well, judging by these comments I think we are well at the point where Blizzard can say jump and the fans will ask how high?
That tax evasion and exploitation of people’s love for the world some nerds built 30 years ago is gonna go smoother than Method running LFR.

come again?
Activison blizzard is under investigation for 5 billion in tax evasion, but I guess some people choose not to listen?

Me? Hadn’t heard. I googled.

Atleast we got classic this month.
Yeesss, Classic!
After 15 yrs. No change to the graphics. Same old outdated version
After 10000 yrs, we might get… The same version.

No, like I said, it seems in-line with the frequency of additions we’ve had in past expansions.
You know twhat you said isn’t true, not even WoD (the one expac where we lsot 50-60%+ of people) and most stuck in garrison AFK farming gold. Not even that expac had 5 mounts, yes I remembered it correctly. It just had 3, it’s now just 3 because not even a year with BfA:
- 5 mounts
- 2 pets
- 2 toys (one of which counts as double so it isn’t counted as 3 in total).
I never understand the negativity towards store mounts. Are blizzard forcing you to buy them? No they’re not. The store is just that a store if you want to buy somthing from it buy IT, if you don’t want to then don’t. This isn’t EA! If it were then there would be microtransactions everywhere we would have to pay real money just to use a flight path. The store is fine for cosmetic items and in game services the only time I will start to have problems with the store is if pay to win items suddenly make an apperence!.
