Change something with the BG queues

Hola,

my main (priest) is fully geared. My twink (druid) also had 75k honor from pre patch and with kara items I guess I can also play him good in arena - but I also got 2k rating first week and I will get arena gear fast.

BUT…

most of the people WONT get as many arena points and they will even be in disadvantage with blue PVP honor gear. Yet this gear should be possible to obtain with playing 50-100 hours (like 4 set pieces + offset pieces, not talking about weapons and so on).

If you dont introduce for example merc mode (maybe even with mixed ally/horde teams) or offer free faction changes horde to ally, soon I will have no enemies anymore in arena :frowning:

Haha okay buddy.

Tell me whats wrong about that. Arena gear is way better then blue pvp gear and if you cant obtain the blue pvp gear no one will start queueing arena in 1 or 2 months besides those that got some gear.

It lacks credibility posting on an alt, asking for something that won’t necessarily impact you as you claim you’re pretty much set already. But for others… Strangers ? Orrrr maybe you aren’t 2k and full honor gear and you want changes for you.

Better like this? Dont know how you want to check my gear anyways with missing armory.

The long queue is a problem created by player choice.

Can players fix this problem by making a different choice?

Thing is that less activity in PvP also backfires to those playing alliance.
And: One solution could be free faction changes only from horde to alliance. This would be having a choice.

Just answer the question please.

Answer to this question is a simple “no”.
Nothing will change with the queues if blizzard does not change anything.
So you stick to your argument “you could have decided to play alliance, its your fault, deal with it”?
Well you can, but this does not solve any problem and arena in TBC will be way less competetive because less people will play it.

Ok so when I made the choice to start this fresh Alliance character last week. Will my choice make my queue and the overall horde queue shorter or will it stay the same?

Of course there will be a small percentage that starts over on a fresh ally toon. But do you really think it will be as many people that there is going to be an impact on horde queues? I dont think so.

So one alternative is to keep everything as it is, but this - at least I think so - will mean that queues stay like they are all TBC long and arena will be played WAY LESS because the main percentage (which is the 1300-1600 rated player base) has no fun with no gear.

OR they change something with horde queues. I prefer the latter. And not because I need stuff, but because I want arena and TBC to be successful.

Less rewarding. But me farming about 300k honor on horde side already since the start of prepatch also was no fun with those 1 hour queues. Still I dont want that everyone else has the same experience I had just because it was a bad experience.

It’s S1. Ppl are reaching 2k with 50 resilience.
I got 233 on my druid and I’m stuck at 1.4k because I suck A LOT more than I anticipated. Didn’t think losing once at 1400 needs 3-4 wins to counter. Thought that’d be at 1600-1700 ish.

Pvp gear is not that big of a deal in s1.

If they change the Horde queue so that horde get a short queue without requiring rerolls. Do you think that will make the faction balance better or worse?

Do you think that would make my choice and effort to roll fresh more rewarding and fun, or less rewarding and fun?

Okay, so all your arguments are:

  • pvp gear is not important anyways
  • i dont want horde to have good queues

Perfect.

Not wanting 1 faction to have only upsides with 0 downsides seems pretty reasonable.

for priest its not true, because dwarf is probably even slightly better then UD

and: faction change should be from HORDE to ALLIANCE only, which means LESS horde players in PvP and MORE alliance, so its going to be more easy for alliance because they will face less horde.

I’m all for faction change. I just doubt it’s going to make much of a difference. Everybody is just going to hope other people take the fall so they don’t have to.

Even if it doesnt, it gives everyone that plays horde and complains about the queues an option to have instant queues.

It won’t make a difference sadly. Even now you can boost alliance char to 58 on 2nd account and level him up in 2 weeks but people don’t wanna leave their stuff behind.

I asked in another thread about pvp queues and got a response that they are longer by the day which probably means that it doesn’t cause people to unsubscribe which is the biggest factor with such changes.

People come here to vent their frustration but they still keep playing.

The only thing that has worked on TBC private servers are faction login queues with free faction transfers, but I doubt Blizz will ever implement that, the situation was pretty much the same as on classic with 70:30 faction balance.

I knew what was coming so I rolled Alliance for TBC, but even I didn’t expect 1.30h hour queues that are coming soon.

But its a huge difference if you need to pay for a second account, level all of BC again and do all of the gearing stuff OR just transfer your toon to alliance.
