Changing covenant

Why do I have to start from 1, all over again? Does not make sense.

Covenants, conduits (and legendaries) are just another layer on top of your talents. In the past we had azerite gear, or weapon traits, gear sets… All changeable at will,

Why have all those artificial restrictions in place for covenants (and conduits to an extend)?

Because Meaningful choices.

Because Blizzard only cares about time spent and engagement metrics

They gave us better quality of life over the expansions, and now they’ve decided to take it away from us some way or another, and this is one of the ways.

For your sanity and time sake it would be easier to have one character for each covenant and leave it at that.

They promised us the most alt friendly WoW expansion ever and instead we got the most alt-hostile expansion ever in WoW’s history.

None of my characters will ever be covenant changed :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

To waste your time making you do all of that again.

MeAnInGfUl ChOiCe dude.

Don’t you guys want to have MeAnInGfUl ChOiCeS?

Plus, they can’t have you changing covenants and be done now, can they? You’ll run out of content too soon without the grind.

I’d be very careful! There’s a lot of people on the forums who would die before letting someone give criticism about “meaningful choice”.

Incoming defensive reply from someone who starts with “V”.

Although I don’t like the covenant system, it does make sense. Your relationship was built up with your previous covenant, not your new one.

If you return to a previous covenant it’s all waiting for you ready where you left off.

No, no, no way. All the covenants are literally sleeping with each other, no matter which covenant you choose, you are the “Maw Walker” and are treated with utmost respect by all other covenants you visit for your campaign quests and your callings. As the “Maw Walker”, a term OVERUSED in all other circumstances, you should be welcomed and free floating.

It’s supposed to be a way to customize your character in a way that make it more unique and different from other characters of the same spec and class,
so , really you should play what you like , but due to lack of balance i can see why some people decide to change , i’m a venthyr lock, we’re almost a year into the expansion now and my covenant is still the worst performing.

They all took it personally if you didn’t choose them. So now you have to work for it.

You are welcomed, but there’s still stuff that needs doing, and that’s how you gain renown.

It isn’t like it’s difficult to get up to date with all the catch up mechanics available now. I switched with my druid a couple of days after 9.1 was released and I was caught up by the time weekly reset came round.

Blizzard made an objective mistake by making covenants personal rather than realm-wide progression systems where each covenant is fueled by the sheer number of players choosing it.

In the lore, the progression is realm-wide.
