What about changing LFR to a solo scenario where friendly NPCs of your faction kill the boss with you no matter how bad u are just so you can experience the lore part of the raid?
No gear rewards, only cosmetics
Normal raid being slightly harder
Heroic removed
Hard mode (mythic) rewarding even greater rewards, more cosmetics, glyphs, etc.
Personally I see no point in LFR in BfA. I ran it in Legion for the leggo drop chance. However a lot of people do raid LFR and removing it would upset a lot of people. I do think they need to decide what is it though, it swings from some fights where you cannot die to others that are almost normal difficulty (KJ, Gul’dan and N’Zoth spring to mind)
Contrary to what many people say, LFR is pretty enjoyable when you don’t have moany players who can’t handle wipes or think it is all about numbers.
It’s a chill environment with entry level rewards for the next tier, basic mechanics and overall I don’t see how players view it as a negative aspect of the game. I think they give too much time for things that need not concern them.
As an alternative ? Sure, to replace LFR all together? No thanks from me!
I’d like that for “solo content” like Horrific Visions. Bloody mess is what it is when you try doing it in healer spec.
Not sure about raids on higher than LFR difficulty though. MMO ain’t no single player game and it should not be about soloing things too much. Maybe some sort of Proving Grounds: Dungeon X, where you do dungeon X with party of NPCs to show other people that you know what to do in dungeon X instead of having over 9000 RIO and Dungeon X completed at +30 required to get invited to +5.
If people want to solo LFR, they need to wait until it’s old content and use the solo queue system.
I don’t quite understand why some seek to remove content from others. I don’t understand the logic of trying to remove Heroic difficulty specifically.
I would love to have solo scenarios for raids, even if there are no drops in that mode, just to view the story and complete quests. For example in the current expansion is impossible to view the story with LFR for previous patches because no one queue for 8.0 LFR
But I don’t think solo queue should replace LFR, it should be a different option, maybe only activated for raids that no one queue anymore, so previous patches and expansions only
I meant as solo content that doesnt matter if u die or do barely any dmg, the npcs kill the bosses with you no matter what. It wouldnt net any gear reward, similar to watching a YouTube vid about a kill but experiencing it ingame
We are playing a game here, not watch youtube. And heroic is for a lot of guilds the big endgoal of a tier. Just keep everything. Everyone can choose the difficulty they want.
Its the gear u got from it in the past few expansions. It started with the titanforging, random Karen getting a better item from lfr while active dedicated mythic raider Bob is struggling to get his bis. Then it continued with corruption.
I don’t think NPCs should kill the bosses without you no matter what, at least the mode should require the player to not die. Maybe even have some small punishments for making mistakes, so for example if the player stays some seconds in the fire some NPC die and so it will be like in LFR when someone player, it is worst for all others.
Me, being Wrath child: What is Mythic difficulty? What the f is LFR difficulty, ez afk faceroll mode for people who like their content easier than easy or are in the raid for sights?
2 most common problems with Heroic diff are that:
Heroic is the old Normal, as all “difficult” parts that used to be in Heroic already went into Mythic aka the new Heroic (DIFFICULTY HERE) and
4 different difficulty settings are part of contribution to item level bloat, aka “endgame raider gear is 20x better than fresh max level gear, then templates/PvP scaling comes in and turns out to be a big steaming pile”. And then stat squish every expansion because HP/damage/healing numbers go into reaches normally reserved for astrophysics.
I don’t care for any of these two - let more people have fun instead of less - but they DO seem problematic to some, and their logic is sound.
We are just learning the raid in LFR. Not for loot or something afk faceroll. Allthough sometimes it is fun to make a step back and do something on a bit easier mode (like i did a +14 and +16 yesterday too).
We get 30 ilvl per tier. This is because of heroic and mythic being higher ilvl than the previous tier. Normal is on the previous mythic ilvl and lfr 15 under the previous. You can add a thousand extra modes, but when it stays at the top +30 ilvl per tier, the amount of modes are irrelevant.
Yeah, as usual, their solution is liberal use of chainsaw instead of chirurgical scalpel cuts: Worse than the problem it was to solve. Just saying this isn’t helping things.
For the people who do LFR just to see the story and tick off the quest, a solo story mode would work fine. But not everyone does LFR for those reasons; people who want to see the fights to learn them or who want to improve their item level a little before doing other content/difficulties would not be accommodated with this mode.
I assume that some amount of resources would be required to create this new mode, and we can all list plenty of areas where we’d each like these resources to be used instead, so I am unsure if there would be sufficient demand for a story mode to justify the development time and costs.
I agree with the small bit of itemlevel but i simply can’t understand the logic behind getting a better item from LFR than Mythic endboss. I am not exactly sure about the reward system regarding LFR and other difficulties in SL so i can’t comment on that, only coming from past expansions with Titanforging, corruption, etc.
This has nothing to do with LFR. But with just random proccing whatever extra’s on loot you get. And fortunately titanforging is already gone, and corruptions are gone from pre-patch
I know, i am just hoping nothing similar ever happens to the game anymore, it was extremely frustrating back in Legion when i took the game somewhat seriously, attended mythic raids and progressed through several nights while some random person with 10 cats at home playing 1 hour a week gets a better item cuz u know…luck.
