Hello! I’ve noticed a strange thing, trying to create a new Horde character of the EU Chaos Bolt SoD server to play with my friend there, but it does not allow me to create it, saying that due to imbalance, the Horde fraction is unavailable for creation. What’s strange for me is that I’ve checked the server stats, and it looks like there are around 3k Horde characters and 10k of the Alliance ones. So, I have a feeling that something is wrong with the balancing system.
So a PvP realm doesn’t allow one faction to be created, sounds like the faction balancing is working.
Those stats only show Raiders and not all of them at that.
3rd party sites are fed community numbers and may not be reliable for statistics.
Did you try creating an alliance toon first, delete it then make horde?
Hmm, that’s an interesting idea, I would maybe try that.
I don’t exactly know how it works, but it’s possibly more complicated.
Since the aim is faction balance in terms of gameplay.
Alts, for example, wouldn’t automatically count as you only play one at a time.
The time you spend in-game is a useful metric.
The activity per character is even better. Quests completed, takedowns, casts… the game tracks them since Wrath.
Auctions are also indicative of activity.
Then you can apply trends on top it all.
Horde mains playing allience late in the season to spice it up and coerce the system to open up for their friends, but then returning for the new content. People like me who never play during launch because it’s too busy.
(Like how LF was locked throughout P1 in anticipation of a P2 explosion.)
