Fellow warlocks, just do not try destro. After getting my fire gear together, putting 5 in devastation it is still very bad.
Baseline damage is 225-286 and if you have some gear it is somewhat better but it wont make much of a difference. Note that some classes hit as much with auto attack/instant spells and a certain pet crits around this range with an instant cast ability that is spammable.
In bgs you wont crit a lot. You can offset this somewhat by picking demonic tactics, but then you miss out on lake of fire which is needed for this spell to actually hit hard.
By the time you inci—>rain of fire—>chaos bolt your enemy will be either; dead(from boredom or your team), out of range or laughing his butt off since you didnt manage to score a crit and now one quarter of their health is missing or you will be dead since a hunter made your 2,5 second cast into a 10 sec cast and you expire waiting for the last 0.1 second of the spellcast. In the very rare scenario where you face a literal dud in wsg, manage to crit which is around ~1 in 5 if you have demonic tactics and ~1 in 10 wo. if your enemy doesnt use a headband(if he does and you do not tactic then its more like 1 in 20, but then again your crit will be like 600dmg), then do enjoy your 800 crit. Even worse it has a 12 second cd.
In pve it is slightly better, but based on personal experience, not looking at charts I seem to do way better as affliction.
All in all “big scary spell” of the olden times is a wet noodle now; pick affliction w demon form for pvp and full affliction for pve.
Seems you never played this game before eaither. You dont have all the talents yet, it may or may not be very good in p2, we will w8 and see. Some specs/classes needs their core abilities and thats not the case atm.
there is a pretty distinct “rn” at the end. That means its horse manure right now, you should not pick it at this stage of the game, since everyone will do better than you and it is not fun either. I doubt it will be god mode at 60 though. All that will change and is significant is you will get ruin. So crits will be good…if you get any.
U can, just sac + fear and walk ur new melee pet on a leash. Same with hunter, sac + fear pet and try to get into melee with hunter. It is just easier with meta, that’s all.
But good hunter will never let get u in melee anyway either on meta or haunt warlock.
I am aware of the topic, but its not the topic there I answered on. Anyway, you seem to understand what I am trying to say tho more then many others on the forums I would say. Warlock will probably be preatty decent at 60 but its all depends on what runes there will be etc ofc, everything we know can be upsidedown.
