Hi :slight_smile:
I’m looking for some advice on moving chars between accounts. I have 2 accounts and would like to move some chars across. I have bought transfer tokens before but can only remember being able to move to different servers. Am I remembering wrongly or is it a different way to move chars between accounts?

There are some restrictions on moving characters between accounts. Generally its not permitted.

In order to be permitted to move a character between accountsL

  1. Both accounts must be owned by the same person. You cannot transfer a character to someone elses account - Except for a guardian transferring a character owned by a minor to the minors own account.
  2. Account bound items owned by that character will not transfer with it.
  3. You can not transfer characters to or from a banned account.
  4. Both accounts must be on the same battlenet account - except for the case of a guardian transferring a minors character to the minors own account, once the minor reaches the age to be able to have their own account.

I don’t think that theres an automated process to transfer between accounts, I think GM intervention is needed, however I am not totally sure on that point.

Thanks for replying. They are both my accounts with the same details and payment method. I wasn’t sure if there was an automated way to do it but cannot find how else to do it.

The process is the same whether you’re transferring to another realm on the same account or transferring to another account (same realm or not). So long as you own both accounts it’s totally permitted and is a standard service.

You buy the transfer token, then during the process you select transfer to another account, it’s an additional option that pops up during destination selection and is easy to miss if that’s not your intent, so probably why you don’t remember it from previous transfers. If it’s an eligible account it’ll all go through much as a realm transfer would.

One thing to note is that you can’t move a character from an account that owns DF to one that doesn’t.
